  1. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is among the biggest stars of South Indian cinema, is currently in Mumbai. A day after attending an award function, the actress met Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and director-duo Raj & DK last night. Varun was at his chivalrous best for the South stunner as they got papped together. View this post on Instagram For the unversed, Varun and Samantha are reportedly working together in the Hindi remake of Citadel, to be directed by Raj & DK. While an official announcement is still awaited, this meeting has hinted that talks are indeed going on. View this post on Instagram However, fans are already rooting for Varun and Samantha as their video is currently doing the rounds on social media in which the Student of The Year star is seen saving the U-Turn actress from paparazzi crowding near her. Viral Bhayani, a popular paparazzi, has posted a video on his official Instagram handle in which Varun and Samantha were seen exiting a building with director Raj Nidimoru. While Varun wore an orange T-shirt with ripped denims, Sam sported a great and dark blue jacket with black pants. As the paps surrounded them to capture the duo, Varun asked them to not scare Samantha as she looked a little clueless. He said, "Darao mat, kyun dara rahe ho isko (Do not scare her. Why are you scaring her)?" Hearing this, Samantha passes a smile. Varun then protectively escorts her to the car with his hands around her, like a shield. The actress can be heard saying "thank you" to Varun as she reaches her car. Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram In the comments section, fans are praising Varun for his sweet gesture and are also expressing their excitement for Citadel. Reacting to the video, an Instagram user commented, "Varun is sooo humble man. Love u Sam". Another user wrote, "Love the way he just kept his arms around to protect..but didn't touch her... he's very good". A third comment reads, "They'll look great in Citadel". Here are the reactions: © Instagram © Instagram © Instagram © Instagram © Instagram For the unversed, Samantha and Varun-starrer Citadel remake is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. While Samantha had earlier worked with Raj & DK in The Family Man 2, Varun will be working with the director-duo for the first time in the upcoming series. View the full article
  2. Virat Kohli became only the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches for the country when he took the field in Mohali in the first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka last week. The former India captain is known to take the field with a win at all cost attitude and often his approach towards the game is mistaken for arrogance. While he wears his heart on his sleeve on the field, off the field Kohli has shown time and again how much he cares about his fans and similar scenes were on display at the IS Bindra stadium after India's emphatic win over Sri Lanka. Caption This #YehHaiNayiDilli #INDvSL @RishabhPant17 @imVkohli @ImRo45 pic.twitter.com/xUoCFhIBmX — Delhi Capitals (@DelhiCapitals) March 7, 2022 India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs to go 1-0 up in the two-match series. While Kohli failed to make his landmark Test memorable by scoring a century, he did cross the 8,000-run mark in the longest format of the game after scoring 45 runs in the first innings. Once the game was done, Indian players were boarding the bus back to their hotel and that is when a disabled fan, who calls himself the unofficial 12th man of the Indian team, received a special gift from Kohli. Fans were in awe of Kohli seeing the heartwarming gesture by the 33-year-old batter and flooded Twitter by lavishing praise on him. 4. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has largely received positive reviews from most movie-going audiences, with many of them calling the film, one of SLB’s finest films in years. Alia Bhatt, too, is getting similar reviews. © Pen India Limited However, there are those who feel that the actress was miscast in the film, mainly because of how she looks. Not just her, there have been a number of films where audiences have felt that the casting could have been better, and where certain actresses were miscast. © T-Series We take a look at a few such films, where audiences felt that the actress in the film was rather miscast, in spite of their strong performances. 1. Shraddha Kapoor - Haseena Parkar © AA Films Haseena Parkar was the biopic of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister and chronicled the role that she played in Mumbai’s underworld. Shraddha Kapoor essayed the role of Haseena in the film, after having prepared for it with tons of research and workshops. She even managed to give one of her career’s best performances. However, most audience members felt that she was miscast in the film. 2. Katrina Kaif - Jab Tak Hai Jaan © Yash Raj Films Fans of Bollywood have always appreciated just how gorgeous Katrina Kaif looks on screen and were very excited to see her being cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and being directed by the legendary director, Yash Chopra. However, many people still believe that Katrina does not have the acting chops that the role demanded, and was miscast in the film. They believe that her role should have been given to an actress who could portray an emotionally strong, and charged character. 3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - Sarbjit © T-Series Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of Dalbir Kaur in the 2016 film, Sarbjit. The actress’ performance in the trailer had impressed a lot of people, but when the film came out, most movie-going audiences felt that Aishwarya was miscast in the film, for a very bizarre reason. They felt that the “unglamorous look” that Aishwarya took up was very jarring. 4. Nargis Fakhri - Rockstar © Eros International Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar will go down in the books as one of Bollywood’s most iconic films for a number of reasons. From the songs to Ranbir’s acting in the film - there are many reasons why people still love this film. One aspect that fans did not appreciate, however, was the performance given By Nargis. Audience members felt that the role should have been taken up by an actress who had some experience and could act in the numerous emotionally challenging scene. 5. Parineeti Chopra - Saina © T-Series The casting for Saina Nehwal’s biopic had always been in limbo. Firstly, there was this whole incident where Shraddha Kapoor had started shooting for the lead but was replaced midway. Then, there is the entire fiasco of how Parineeti looked in the film. Perhaps this is why audiences felt that Parineeti was miscast in the film. To be fair to Parineeti though, it was one of her best performances to date. 6. Alia Bhatt - Gangubai Kathiawadi © Pen India Limited The most recent actress to be added to this list has to be Alia Bhatt. While many people are calling Gangubai Kathiawadi one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s finest films in years, a lot of people believe that Alia was miscast in the film. Audiences across the country say that Alia has a rather childlike appearance, because of which she couldn’t do justice to the role. Right when the trailer was released, people have been saying that the role should have gone to Vidya Balan. View the full article

Khali is popular as an Indian professional wrestler best known for his stint with the WWE, where he was the former WWE world champion and a WWE Hall of Famer as well. © sportzwiki Humble BeginningsAlthough The Great Khali seems to be living the life of his dreams now, his origins, however, were anything but. He was born into an indigent family, with little to no means to provide the bare minimum that a growing child would require. Furthermore, from the tender age of 12, he had to resort to doing odd jobs and providing manual labor in order to earn a livelihood to support his family. © khabar gnews Dalip Singh eventually moved from Himachal to Punjab looking for employment, and it was here that he was scouted by the Punjab Police owing to his towering frame, and it’s thanks to them that the legend began his affair with wrestling. Back when he was just Dalip, the former wrestler even had the prestigious Mister India title bestowed upon him in 1995 and 1996. Additionally, the former WWE sensation was diagnosed with Gigantism and Acromegaly at a young age. The disease was caused by a benign tumor (adenoma), which grew on Khali's pituitary gland and caused an excessive secretion of the growth hormone, leading to the rare condition, acromegaly. His condition exacerbated his gigantism, leading to potentially life-threatening illnesses and complications if it had been left untreated. In 2012, The Great Khali successfully underwent surgery to get rid of the tumor. 13. The trailer of Pratik Gandhi and Richa Chadha starrer The Great Indian Murder is out now and it looks promising. The trailer has piqued the interest of the viewers and this show is on our binge watch list. It's exciting to see Pratik in a series post Scam 1992. The trailer shows Richa Chadha and Pratik playing investigating officers who have been tasked to solve the murder of a politician’s (played by Ashutosh Rana) son, Vicky Rai. With such talented cast on board, we can surely expect a roller-coaster ride. The cast also features Raghubir Yadav, Shashank Arora, and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles. Helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, The Great Indian Murder is based on the novel Six Suspects by writer Vikas Swarup whose book Q&A was adapted into the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire. The series has been bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Reel Life Entertainment. The official synopsis reads as, “Vicky Rai is the cunning 32-year-old owner of the Rai Group of Industries and son of the Home Minister of Chhattisgarh, Jagannath Rai. Vicky Rai gets murdered in cold blood in a party thrown by him to celebrate his acquittal in a rape and murder case of two Shelter Home girls. Six suspects surrounding his murder come under the radar of the case’s investigating officers DCP Sudha Bhardwaj and Suraj Yadav of Central Bureau of Investigation. Vicky Rai’s case has also put an unintended halt in his father, Jagannath Rai’s political career which he tries to win by fair or foul means, even after Vicky’s death. The Great Indian Murder is about exploring several versions of a single murder, a story that Sudha and Suraj weave through their investigations.” Here’s the trailer: Richa Chadha, who plays DCP Sudha Bhardwaj in the series, said in a statement as per the PR handout, “Thrillers have always been an exciting genre for me – it challenges you greatly and stretches your capabilities as an actor. When I read the script for The Great Indian Murder, I knew instantly that it was a project I wanted to be a part of. There’s an intriguing story to tell here, and Tigmanshu Dhulia is a brilliant director who was there for me and for the rest of the cast to guide and direct. Each character in this series has an intense motive and justification for their actions – it is somewhat relatable, yet nerve-wracking. It is an exemplary example of a thriller series writing which only Tigmanshu Dhulia could have pulled off! Can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction to it.” View this post on Instagram Meanwhile, Pratik Gandhi, who will be seen portraying the role of a CBI officer, said about the show, “I wanted to be very thoughtful about my next digital outing and The Great Indian Murder and Disney+ Hostar seemed like the perfect choice. My character Suraj Yadav was a whole new challenge for me. He is someone who represents the law but never shies away from breaking it or mending it to ease his way. This grey layer and his easy transition between the dark and light sides make him special and very human.” After watching the trailer, people are recommending the show to everyone as they think it’s an interesting story to tell. They are also rooting for the strong cast and have already declared it as a masterpiece. 14. England suffered yet another humiliating loss in the fifth and final Test match as Australia retained the Ashes, clinching the five-match series 4-0. The Joe Root-led side, as has been the case throughout this series, once again produced a shoddy performance with the bat and were bowled out for 124 runs in their innings, thus losing the match by 146 runs in just three days. Here it is - the moment Australia sealed the #Ashes 4-0! pic.twitter.com/BFdPVnPcUb — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 16, 2022 Watching their team surrender without a proper fight was a hard pill to swallow for the English fans and experts alike. For many this was perhaps England’s worst overseas Test performance in a while. After the series defeat, many former players came hard at Root’s men, ripping them to shreds with their comments. As expected, every expert had a different opinion as to what went wrong for England. Some questioned the players’ abilities while others raised fingers on Root’s leadership capabilities. - Brisbane: AUS by nine wickets Adelaide: AUS by 275 runs Melbourne: AUS by an innings & 14 runs Sydney: Draw Hobart: AUS by 146 runs#Ashes pic.twitter.com/qyGTHLZmzY — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 16, 2022 Amidst all this, there was one comment by a former England captain David Gower that grabbed all the headlines and led to a huge outrage on social media. Gower was discussing things that led to such a humiliating defeat Down Under but instead of questioning the players and their horrendous performances, he presented that age-old rhetoric and blamed the Indian Premier League (IPL) (https://www.mensxp.com/topic/ipl.html) as one of the reasons behind his country’s failure. The 64-year-old legend argued that England players are more interested in playing in the IPL than their own country and that has made life difficult for skipper Root. "Joe Root finds himself with people unavailable, because where are they? The IPL. What good is that for English Test cricket?! This is the oldest, more important form of the game, we need to defend it." Four minutes of David Gower in full flow. Well said, Sir pic.twitter.com/6eQnYAqra0 — Cricket on BT Sport (@btsportcricket) January 16, 2022 “Joe Root finds himself with people unavailable, because where are they? The IPL. What good is that for English Test cricket?! This is the oldest, more important form of the game, we need to defend it,” Gower said on BT Sport after the fifth Test match. Clearly, the Indian fans weren’t too pleased with Gower’s comments and they gave him a hard time on social media, so much so that he had to issue an explanation on the micro-blogging site. It appears one has to explain things to the hard of hearing - I’m not against the IPL - it is a phenomenon - but I am against England contracted players being unavailable to play for England because of it. https://t.co/tJjByQQsar — David Gower (@David215Gower) January 17, 2022 “It appears one has to explain things to the hard of hearing - I’m not against the IPL - it is a phenomenon - but I am against England contracted players being unavailable to play for England because of it,” Gower wrote on Twitter. By the time, England batting great issued a clarification, the damage was already done. Among many who slammed Gower’s remarks was former Indian women’s team head coach WV Raman. Raising a pertinent question, he asked if England experts felt IPL led to their team’s “shambolic performance” , then why did the ECB introduce ‘The Hundred’. If their main contention is that playing in the #IPL results in deterioration of temperament and skills, can't be helped.. When there is a choice, each individual will opt for what he thinks is best for him.. — WV Raman (@wvraman) January 16, 2022 “Shambolic performance by England in #Ashes. Reason according to their former captains - #IPL. So, we are to assume that The Hundred will help them win WTC. I will anyday prefer listening to good old fables of Aesop..” Raman tweeted. “If their main contention is that playing in the #IPL results in deterioration of temperament and skills, can't be helped.. When there is a choice, each individual will opt for what he thinks is best for him,” he added in the same thread. Some Indian fans were so pissed that they called Gower’s remarks a reflection of his colonial mindset. They argued that some English people can’t digest that a country which once used to be their colony is now the home to the biggest T20 league in the world, while those who invented the game are playing the catch-up game. RIP Logic — faisal afzal (@faisalafzal9) January 16, 2022 And not the 100 or anything else naturally! Well done Gower… — RB (@RitunBose) January 17, 2022 I love David Gower but who was missing? Who was at the IPL that could bat all day and get us past 300 once in 10 innings? No preparation in Australia, Covid, poor selection and Aussie bowlers better than our batters — Dave (@DaveAmitri) January 16, 2022 By pointing fingers at IPL, Gower was running away from the ground reality that their players weren’t good enough to compete in Australia. A majority of the England players who were part of the Ashes squad weren’t even contracted by any IPL franchises. Not just that, even those who were, like Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, had ruled themselves out of the tournament last year. While Stokes missed the whole tournament, Buttler withdrew from the second-leg which was held in the UAE. Australia win by 146 runs and complete a 4-0 series victory. Scorecard: https://t.co/B4vOZnHWif#Ashes | #AUSvENG pic.twitter.com/uaqdGvm4uJ — England Cricket (@englandcricket) January 16, 2022 Gower or any other English expert can say whatever they want but the truth is that the one and only reason why England lost the Ashes was because of their own deficiencies, the IPL had nothing to do with it. It’s just an excuse to divert the minds of English people. View the full article

  16. Jasprit Bumrah is usually considered as a cool and calm individual who rarely loses his cool or engages in a battle on a cricket field. However, the Indian pacer has let his emotions get the better of him in the recent past. Be it his fiery battle with James Anderson or his recent duel with young South Africa pacer Marco Jansen, Bumrah has had a go at his rivals. Bumrah got riled up after Anderson said something to him during a Test match in England and he returned the favour by attacking the England batter with a barrage of short-pitched deliveries. Each step, each success leads to the next one. So proud of this team pic.twitter.com/tXly0dccll — Jasprit Bumrah (@Jaspritbumrah93) September 6, 2021 On Day 3 of the 2nd Test between India and South Africa, it was Bumrah who was on the receiving end of the short ball attack and got hit twice on his body. The 28-year-old then got involved in an animated exchange with Jansen, who had also played for Mumbai Indians alongside Bumrah. This new side of Bumrah has not gone well with former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar. Speaking during a show on ESPN Cricinfo, Manjrekar said he doesn't like this expressive side of Bumrah. The former India batter also urged Bumrah to learn from Sri Lanka's legendary bowler and his role model Lasith Malinga on how to behave when things start to get spicy out in the middle. View this post on Instagram Notably, Bumrah and Malinga have played a lot together for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and the former has credited Malinga on numerous occasions for the success that he has been able to achieve in the international circuit. "This anger thing is interesting. It happened in England as well and I don't like this side of Bumrah. I like it when things get really hot, he has a smile on his face just like he usually does. She revealed that she will be releasing her original music in three months that she has written and composed herself. Here’s the video of her interaction: As people are comparing her with Urfi, we would how would the two react to these comparisons. Talking about Urfi, she is also in headlines for her fashion sense and she recently created a stir when she said she would never marry a Muslim man. She told India Today, “I am a Muslim girl. Most of the hate comments I receive are from Muslim people. They say that I am tarnishing the image of Islam. They hate me because Muslim men want their women to behave in a certain way. They want to control all the women in the community. I don’t believe in Islam because of this. The reason why they troll me is because I don’t behave the way they expect me to as per their religion.” Urfi Javed continued, “I will never marry a Muslim guy. I don’t believe in Islam and I don’t follow any religion, so I don’t care who I fall in love with. We should marry whoever we want to.” View this post on InstagramShe also revealed that her father abandoned her and her family when she was just 17. “My father was a very conservative man. He left me and my siblings with our mother when I was 17 years old. My mother is a very religious woman, but she never forced her religion on us. My siblings follow Islam and I don’t, but they never force it on me. That’s how it is supposed to be. You cannot force your religion upon your wife and children. It should come from the heart, otherwise neither you nor Allah would be happy,” Urfi Javed added. Well, Urfi has time and again mentioned that she is not bothered about trolling. We hope Sakshi also ignores these nasty comments. It’s high time that we put an end to trolling. View the full article
