  1. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been in the news ever since he was snapped at legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's funeral on February 6. A video went viral from the last rites ceremony in which SRK and his manager Pooja Dadlani were seen bidding their last goodbye to the 'Nightingale of India'. While offering prayers, in the clip, the actor also blows duas, which a section of social media users mistook as spitting and trolled him. View this post on Instagram However, SRK fans and various celebrities including Urmila Matondkar, Swara Bhakser among others came out in the superstar’s support and made it clear that he removed his mask just to blow into the air, which is a part of Islamic ritual after reading a ‘dua’. While Shah Rukh Khan is yet to react, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has now reacted to the controversy and has supported the Swades star. View this post on Instagram "It is shameful the way people are trolling him (Shah Rukh Khan). Some people are doing politics in the name of religion even on the sad occurrence of Lata ji's demise. We all know who these people are. Nobody needs to be told," Sanjay Raut was quoted as saying by ANI. Recently, an old SRK video too went viral on the internet in which he is shown discussing his vision of India. In the clip, SRK recounted how in school, students had to prepare an essay on 'My Country'. It was incorrect, in his perspective, because we are Indian citizens who do not own the country. View this post on Instagram On the Bollywood front, the actor was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Zero co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film was released in 2018 and turned out to be a box office disappointment. He is currently shooting for Siddharth Anand's Pathan which marks his comeback after a gap of around four years. Reportedly, he has also signed films with Rajkumar Hirani and Atlee. However, an official announcement is still awaited. Source: HT View the full article
  2. In recent years, we've certainly seen how there is a lot of changes in the country and so is its representation in the film industry which is Bollywood. Gone are the times when you'd have to make an excuse to drink water whenever a kissing scene came on the tv screen when you'd be around your family. I mean, if you still do that, that too, is quite fair as well. What I'm essentially trying to say is that the times really have changed, and there is clearly more freedom given to filmmakers in terms of having more explicit scenes of sexual nature, instead of sticking the old formula of showing flowers brushing against each other. © iStock However, these are still baby steps and people are still subject to getting offended with the scenes as they find them too vulgar for our society. One similar incident was that of the 2009 Kurbaan movie that had starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and now husband Saif Ali Khan. © Netflix Directed by Rensil D’Silva, the film had Kareena play the role of Avantika, a professor who falls in love with Saif's character only to later realize that he has a lot of hidden secrets locked in his life. The movie, which starred had actors like Om Puri, Kirron Kher, Vivek Oberoi, and Dia Mirza did well at the box office. However, other than its success, it also made news for its explicit *** scene between Saif and Kareena's character. In fact, the poster too had Kareena sporting a topless back while standing with Saif, something that did not go well with the Shiv Sena Party, who considered it 'vulgar'. As per reports, Shiv Sena then resorted to targeting Kareena for the bold photoshoot for the film poster with the party’s area Vibhagpramukh Jitendra Janawale even stating that they will present the actress with a Saree. “We will soon visit Kareena’s residence and present her a saree,” he said. However, when Kareena was later asked about the same she kept her cool and said that she didn't find anything vulgar with the poster. “I do not find anything wrong with the poster. I think it is very aesthetic.” said the actress. Answering about being gifted a Saree, Kareena replied, “I have not received any saree yet but I hope it will be a beautiful one.” Kareena will now be seen starring in Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha, which is slated to release this year. 3. A Spider-Man movie that a lot of people must have seen is still remembered for one dialogue that has lived on to date: "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility." Unfortunately for many of us, India counts as one of the nations where with great power, there is sometimes absolutely no responsibility, accountability, or even basic sensibility. © Unsplash A recent shocking example of this was in Mumbai, where a Mumbai lawmaker forced one of his contractors to go through a traumatic experience. In a video that has now gone viral on social media, Dilip Lande, a Shiv Sena MLA, forced one of the corporators to sit on a waterlogged street and then instructed his supporters to dump garbage on top of him. #WATCH | Mumbai: Shiv Sena MLA from Chandivali, Dilip Lande makes a contractor sit on water logged road & asks workers to dump garbage on him after a road was waterlogged due to improper drainage cleaning He says, "I did this as the contractor didn't do his job properly" (12.6) pic.twitter.com/XjhACTC6PI — ANI (@ANI) June 13, 2021 The shameless incident that occurred took place after many of Mumbai's areas like Sanjay Nagar and Sunder Baug in Kurla were flooded after heavy rainfall in the region. © Mumbai Mirror Upon asking Lande as to why he carried out such an inhumane act, he responded by saying, “I had been receiving numerous complaints from the local people. Those responsible for cleaning the garbage did not do their work for which people of my area had to walk through waterlogged streets. Now, I am making the contractor responsible sit in the same water.” Soon after the shameless incident reached the smartphones and computer screens of the citizens, people jumped on to Twitter to slam the actions of the MLA. What a shameful act! — Dr. Vinayak Dubey 🇮🇳 (@vinayvaani) June 13, 2021Isn't this uncivil and barbaric ? Aren't there civilised and legal ways to deal with errant contractors ? What if common people start dealing with corrupt politicians in a similar manner? — Konkani Babu (@Konkani_babu) June 13, 2021shameful and inhuman! there could be many other ways of how a contractor could be punished by putting fine or taking away the contract, physically harassing him and humiliating him is not acceptable — Anonymous (@IDKwhaaa_t) June 13, 2021Yes. This is inhumane — common man (@alphabetagama_2) June 13, 2021This is not governance but gundagardi...if the party in office will not follow laws they hv no rt to enforce it on others...if the contractor was not doing his work y wasn’t it supervised earlier..who was to supervise ? This suits the agenda and hence the public display of such stupidity. — unkindmonk (@saukiseedhibaat) June 13, 2021This is too much. It’s not acceptable in society. No one should take the law in his hands. When passing his bills why d things were not checked by d concerned. Do u hv SOP for his job and to be checked at every stage. Don’t just blame him. All concerned r responsible. — Tejendra Singh Birdi (@birdits) June 13, 2021 View the full article
  4. Of late, India has been shrouded in the grey clouds of 'intolerance' on multiple occasions. However, almost every single time, Indians have stepped forward to quash these allegations and have stood up in a show of communal harmony and brotherhood. Regardless of their religious beliefs and choice of food, people have always come forward to help each other by going out of their way, saving each other's lives, putting themselves in danger and have been one another's strength. © Twitter After Ayodhya's Sita Ram temple recently hosted an Iftar feast for their Muslim brothers and sisters, now a mosque in UP's Meerut district has opened its gates for the preparation of a Shiv Bhandara in its premises on behalf of a local temple. On the occasion of the foundation day of Somnath Shiv Mandir, the Jama Masjid in the Kotwali area took this beautiful step. Even the Muslim residents of the area helped in the preparation and distribution of the Bhandara among people. © Twitter As per an HT report, the Jama Masjid opened early and all the required apparatus like stoves, vegetables et cetera was brought into the premises. Furthermore, the water used for Muslim devotees was also put to use for the Bhandara and was also served to people for drinking. While the entire world tries to paint a different picture, people like these reaffirm our faith in humanity and our people. What a lovely message this sends to everyone, especially to those who try to divide our society.
  5. Right from the start, I had no real drive to get a beach body other than the fact that it would have been nice to own one. I had been training with a personal trainer 5 to 6 days a week for about a year before this, but to be completely honest, although I felt stronger, I still looked very similar to when I started. I was still stuck in the 'skinny fat' region. For sure, my diet was not on point. I did feel a little disappointed and was massively sceptical about hiring a new coach. Then RNT and Akash came into picture and wanted to give RNT a run for their money, and I thought 'we'll see how it goes'. This is how I started. I started with zeal and within just the first month, I started seeing a change in my body composition. It was insane how quick the changes were to appear as I dropped body fat and increased muscle simultaneously – something that I had previously heard and believed was impossible. Akash had literally dialled in my nutrition and it showed very clearly. The weekly check-ins kept me accountable and made sure that I didn't deviate. Especially when I would try sneak in little bits of chocolate. I booked for a photo shoot which served as a constant motivation. There were times when I did feel that I need to loosen up but the thought of looking great on the shoot day kept me going. I held on very well through the weekly changes in calories and the peak week. The Results Two photo shoots later, I am now sporting a physique I had only previously only dreamt of. I thought to myself, 'I'm done now – I don't need RNT anymore'. However, the period after the initial transformation has actually been the most useful RNT have been. Having helped me to achieve the body I had only previously dreamed of, the trick was how to keep it going forwards without having to weigh out all my food, and live life. I've now realised that transforming your body will always generate results that transcend far beyond the physical. It positively impacts all areas of your life. Your mental health, your relationships, and even your wealth and finances will all benefit from the habits, discipline and structure a physical transformation embodies. 6. Having graced the silver screen with his par excellence acting skills and essaying strong, meaningful roles in films and web series, this year has been a momentous one for Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The man charmed his way into the hearts of his audience with his stellar deliveries on-screen, and there is much more - bigger and better things - in store for him in the upcoming new year. After his entertaining performance as Gaitonde in 'Sacred Games' and solid portrayal of writer-poet Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das' latest creation, Nawazuddin is yet again getting ready to star in a biopic. © Instagram Releasing early next year, Nawazuddin is set to play the role of founder and former Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, in his upcoming movie 'Thackeray' directed by Abhijit Panse and written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut. While we have already watched and admired the actor's superior acting in the movie's teaser which was released last month, it is however this active snippet circulating on social media that's gaining a lot of attention. In a latest clip from the movie, Nawazuddin is seen making his way to his car in all his political glory. However, it is the uncanny resemblance of the actor to Bal Thackeray that's got the viewers lose their shit. Take a look at the clip here: View this post on Instagram A glimpse into #Thackeray starring @nawazuddin._siddiqui #Bollywood #ZoomTV #Nawaz #NawazuddinSiddiqui #Video #Biopic #Film A post shared by Zoom TV (@zoomtv) on Dec 16, 2018 at 10:26pm PST Wrapped in saffron and adorned by iconic Bal Thackeray paraphernalia, the resemblance between the two men is indeed massive. The movie promises an insight into the life and rise of one of Maharashtra's greatest political leader, and it is safe to say that Nawazuddin seem pretty close to doing justice to the magnanimous personality.
  7. Mumbai was his city and Mumbaikars loved him. He was called the Tiger, and when he stood in the crowd, all people could shout was 'Balasaheb Thackeray zindabad'. If you have lived in Mumbai when Shiv Sena Supremo was alive, we don't need to tell you who he was. The man earned his name and despite not owning a political title or running for Chief Minister, he was no less than one. It all starts with the aerial view of Shivaji Park ground where you can see thousands of people gathered. The camera zooms from the back towards a man wearing his trademark shawl, folding his hands in front of his followers. And you just know that he is Shiva Sena's founder Bal Thackeray. But a closer glance and you realise the man on the screen is none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. © Thackeray The Film It's the uncanny resemblance between the two that takes you back and leaves you stunned. The teaser of much-awaited Bal Thackeray biopic, titled 'Thackeray', is out and we just can't get over it. Nawazuddin took to Twitter sharing the first look and wrote, “an honour and pride to portray the Real King of the Country on Screen (sic).” It's an honour and pride to portray the Real King of the Country on Screen. Here comes the TEASER of #Thackeray Hearty Thanx to Shri @uddhavthackeray Sir, Shri @rautsanjay61, Shri @SrBachchan Sir and Abhijit Pansehttps://t.co/cYHRUkdJEu — Nawazuddin Siddiqui (@Nawazuddin_S) December 21, 2017 The black and white video keeps you hooked from the start of the frame, you just can't over the hysterical crowd chanting Balsaheb's name and when the camera pans on Thackeray turning into a colour frame, all you feel is goosebumps. © Thackeray The Film Written and produced by Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut, the teaser was launched by Amitabh Bachchan, who has himself portrayed Bal in 'Sarkar', and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray. Playing Bal Thackeray ain't no game. There are emotions and sentiments connected to this man's story and we can't help but agree that no one could have done it better than Nawaz.
  8. On one hand where some people are fighting against each other in the name of religion and fueling the Hindu-Muslim conflict, Alam Ara is setting an example that the whole nation needs to learn from and at the same time feel ashamed of as well. For the past 17 years, this woman from Varanasi has been carving Shiv Lingams for a living and believes that there are no Hindus or Muslims in the country, everyone is a Hindustani. She believes that this divide is a waste of time and we don't think anyone could have said it as easily as her. “Making Shiv Lingams is a god-gifted art and we make it with love,” Ara told ANI. We only hope that more people realize that art knows no religious boundaries and religion should never come in the way of work or love for something. Ye humari rozi hai...Hindu-Muslim se kuch nahi hota hai. Hum Hindustani hain,” she told ANI and we couldn't agree any less with her. While the feeling of solidarity is losing its sheen with each passing day, it's people like Alam Ara who help us restore our faith in unity.
  9. The VIP culture is too strong in India; the ‘Tu janta nahi main kaun hoon’ emotion has been taken too seriously by us. The recent fiasco involving Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad is proof. Beating up a 60-year-old official at Air India for the simple reason that he wasn’t given business class on a flight, Gaikwad showed how VIP culture operates. Well, not for long; the country seems to have had enough. After Air India cancelled his ticket, Indigo and 4 other airlines cancelled his ticket and banned him for flying. Ultimately, Mr Gaikwad had to take the train back from Delhi’s Nizamuddin station. Talk of karma. Two FIRs were also registered against him. His own party, Shiv Sena, did not side with him this time and asked him for an explanation. A couple of Shiv Sena ministers even criticized the act of violence. WATCH: Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad admits that he beat an Air India staff member with slippers, remains defiant pic.twitter.com/1ws5nYptkn — ANI (@ANI_news) March 23, 2017 Even after uproar due to the incident, Mr Gaikwad showed no trace of remorse or shame at his doing. His clips that show him bragging smugly about the incident are all over the internet and he even dissed the law claiming that his party chief Uddhav Thackeray would rescue him if the police arrested him. We wonder what his feelings are now as he took the train back to Mumbai. Hopefully he had a lot of time on the long train journey to think about his actions.
