  8. Ishan Kishan has done well for himself as an Indian cricketer who is rising through the ranks to make a space for himself in limited overs matches. From his wicket-keeping skills to his ability to smash long boundaries, he is turning out to be an excellent backup for Rishabh Pant and the Men in Blue. Earlier this week, Kishan got interviewed by the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of his practice for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in which he spoke about how he selects a bat before training. Whether he marks a particular bat which he feels the most comfortable with: View this post on Instagram “No, I don’t keep my bats marked to know which I’ve to use. But yes, I always know which is the one I have to pick. My debut bat is not with me here. I’ve sent it to SG because I want three more bats just like that to play with. If you own a lot of bats too, you get confused. You don’t know which to play with. Now I’m confused as to which bat to play with!” “Let me just pick a new bat today, what say? All my bats have the text “Om Sai Nath” written on it because I believe in him. I ask them to put it on my bat because I like it, it gives me confidence.” As it turns out, a lot of people are angry with the fact that Kishan believes in Sai Baba and did not think twice before blabbering their hate for the southpaw all over social media: Pseudo god. (@hehehihi619) August 24, 2021 Kishan has always been a believer in Sai Baba. In fact, he even got a tattoo of the Shirdi spiritual master on his fight forearm, which gets noticed by the fans every time he enters the cricket ground to bat or keep wickets. Itna religious bachcha! — नम्रता (@_Namrataa) April 6, 2019 Ishan Kishan has a Sai Baba tattoo in his left arm. — Aravind (@netcitizen) September 6, 2018 Even his hand is tattooed with Sai Baba's face, much respect to him . — ηαмαη - ICT CSK (@Mr_unknown23_) August 24, 2021 I think he had a tatto of Sairam — Gautamm (@Gautamm_chary) August 24, 2021 In the first half of the IPL, Kishan played in five matches for the Mumbai Indians while scoring 73 runs in 88 balls faced. With a strike rate of 82.95, he wasn’t having the best of the seasons in the shortest format of the game. However, with the league getting disrupted due to a bio bubble breach, Kishan, along with all the other cricketers, got a break to rework their strategies and brush up on their skills. Kishan also got the opportunity to play for the Indian side during their tour of Sri Lanka and struck a half-century on his ODI debut. View the full article

The film is about one of India’s forgotten heroes. The trailer instills the feeling of patriotism in you and it starts with Adil Hussain’s narration that adds weightage to it. The dialogue at the beginning of the trailer sets the tone of the entire movie: ‘Hindustan Ek Mulk Nahi, Ek Soch Hai Aur Iss Soch Ko Harane Ke Liye Dushman Har Paitra Istemal Karna Chahta Hai’. In the trailer, you are given the plot of the movie wherein a plane has been hijacked and Akshay Kumar’s character whose code name is Bell Bottom is introduced as he is the only one who can crack this entire case. The trailer is packed with many action sequences, a foot-tapping background score, and lots of drama. People who have watched it are loving the trailer and have called it a masterpiece. They went on to say that Akshay has nailed the character. Here are the reactions: © Twitterr © Twitterr © Twitterr © Twitterr © Twitterr Akshay is among the first actors to resume shooting amid the pandemic and cannot live in fear. He said in one of his recent interviews on whether he was afraid: “Of course, I was, but for how long can you live in fear? Initially, when the pandemic started, very little was known about the virus – the way it affects a person. So, there was a lot of fear. With time, we know more and that it’s possible to beat it if we have a good immune system. Hence, I decided to get back to work taking all the precautions, not just for me but the entire unit.” The movie is slated to release on August 19 in 2D and 3D format. View the full article

  13. We are home and literally counting the days until the lockdown ends. As for me, the first thing I would do is go to movies. But, till then, while we are quarantining, everyone is actually looking at ways to keep themselves entertained. Now, if you are in the mood to have an evening that will leave you confused and probably a tad bit mad at us, watch these great movies that were let down by poorly written climaxes. There are spoilers if you havenât watched them already so beware! 1. Ae Dil Hai MushkilWhat describes Ae Dil Hai Mushkil the best is 'friend-zoned forever'. This movie has a never-ending melodrama where Ranbir falls for a girl, but the girl doesn't feel the same way and yet he really tries hard to make her fall for him. But in the end, she still calls him her friend. Well, major facepalm and disastrous ending, to be honest! 2. CocktailPersonally, I really like this movie, but in the end, Hindi movies have a clear agenda to make the hero fall in love with a âsanskaariâ bahu who is fit for Indian families. Saif, who is shown as a frivolous guy, ends up falling for a simple girl but that means heartbreak for the party freak girl, who is already in love with Saif. What is this broken love triangle? I mean! 3. Dhoom 3A film based on a never-ending heist that started with Dhoom and reached till Dhoom 3, will easily put you in a confused zone. This movie is a perfect example of a three-hour-long Crime Patrol scenario, where the thief is constantly checking the cops intellect. With all the build-up, the movie ultimately leads to either the thief opening a cafe or dying. Really? 4. The Dirty PictureHoisted by Vidya Balan, who plays a fierce role in the film, The Dirty Picture is quite entertaining and has a lot of Bollywood âmasalaâ in it but the ending is exceptionally disappointing, as this independent woman, kills herself due to her personal insecurities. How we wish this one had a better ending and didnât end in a catharsis for the character. 5. Rab Ne Bana Di JodiThis movie has a different plot than Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, but the basic line is 'Acha dikhna bohot important hai.' Anushka Sharma crosses the level of dumbness to figure out that the guy she has fallen in love with is actually her husband. The ending shows that it is okay, even if you are not good-looking, bus 'dil saaf hona chaiye.' It is all about acceptance, you know. what is the movie you like to crib about as you continue watching it ? View the full article
  14. People often like to say that it doesnât take much to become an actor these days. Of course, not all of it is fair when they say itâs a matter of good looks, decent acting skills, admirable dancing calibre or a just great âlegacyâ to put someone up there for the world to see on the silver screen. We all know of some great talent that Bollywood has discovered over the years. Actors who have succeeded solely based on their talent and hard work. And as if that is not enough, many of them have proved themselves twice over by not only becoming popular Bollywood actors but also published authors who have distinct titles to their name. Check out these 7 Bollywood actors who have written books too: 1. Emraan Hashmi © Instagram Following his son Ayaanâs successful fight against cancer, Emraan penned The Kiss Of Life which talks about his journey and the struggles his family faced while Ayaan went through the ordeal. The book is also aimed towards helping others who have family members fighting against cancer. 2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui © BCCL The very talented method actor co-authored An Ordinary Life with Rituparna Chatterjee which was published in 2017. The autobiography traces Nawazuddinâs journey as a struggling actor from UPâs Budhana and how he moved from doing theatre to big-banner Bollywood films over the years. 3. Naseeruddin Shah © Twitter Naseeruddin Shah wrote his own memoir titled And Then One Day which takes the readers through his early years as a Meerut-born, catholic-taught, leading theatre persona who made a mark for himself as an actor in Bollywood. 4. Ayushmann Khurrana © Instagram/Isha Bhansal A 2015 publication, Cracking The Code was co-authored by Ayushmann with his wife, director Tahira Kashyap. The book talks about the making of the Bollywood star through his personal journey in the industry and offers guidance to aspiring actors. 5. Anupam Kher © Pinterest Veteran actor Anupam Kher has written two books so far. Aap Khud Hi Best Hain was his first title which came out in 2011 and is a self-help book that helps readers find inner happiness and change their life. His second book is called Lessons Life Taught Me, Unknowingly which is the actorâs honest-to-god autobiography. 6. Pankaj Kapur © Twitter Theatre stalwart Pankaj Kapurâs Dopehri was first written in 1992 as a one-act play which earned him a lot of critical acclaim and was much appreciated by the audience. It was finally published in 2019 as a novella by Harper Collins. 7. Rishi Kapoor © Twitter The outspoken yesteryear Bollywood star penned his autobiography Khullam Khulla which came out in 2017. The memoir is every bit like Kapoor himself with tons of unapologetic spilling of beans. BONUS: Not many of us know this, but superstar Shah Rukh Khanâs own memoir titled Twenty Years In A Decade has been in the pipeline for some time now and reportedly, SRK is writing the book to help his daughter Suhana learn from his experiences ahead of her Bollywood debut. 15. Q: What global efforts are required to annihilate terrorists groups like ISIS? A: US Army - Wrong A: Russian troops - Nope A: Concerted global efforts led by the United Nations - Ummm, no A: A gymboi from Agra, whose brother gets kidnapped - Bingo! At least thatâs what we learned after watching Baaghi 3, which could be one of the worst films of 2020. Of course, that takes nothing away from the fact that both Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor are on the March cover of MensXP. We made them look great; and I think our cover story might be way better written than Baaghi 3, which takes absolutely no logic or rationale into account. To be honest, it is an assault on both physics and geography. The stunts defy all laws of physics. Itâs not something thatâs happening for the first time in Indian cinema, but I canât digest what Tiger manages to pull off with moving helicopters. I know that the core of his audience belongs to a much younger age group but even they would find some stunts hard to believe. © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment As for geography, Agra is shown to have hills and a Lahori man in Syria speaks Urdu in a Hyderabadi accent. But more on that later⦠Chapter 1: CastingIf youâve seen the filmâs trailer, in the lead roles are Tiger Shroff (Ranveer âRonnie Pratap Singh), Riteish Deshmukh (Vikram) and Shraddha Kapoor (Siya Nandan). But if youâve also read the comments below the trailer, youâd know that a lot of users couldnât find Syria on Google Maps after watching it. But jokes aside, Tiger and Riteish D play brothers: one, super aggressive and ready to beat up people at the beck and call of the other - the rather timid sibling. Jackie Shroff, in his special appearance, plays their father, while Jameel Khoury and Jaideep Ahlawat play the antagonist Abu Jalal and Ismail Shehzad Khan respectively. © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Talking about Shraddha, her characterâs most compelling hue is the fact that she swears a lot. Even in the trailer, youâll find her saying things like âTeri Maa Ki Lobbyâ and âUsski Macho Beep Dena.â Abey aise kaun gaali deta hai yaar! Some of you will say that we resort to politics in the absence of jokes, but Siya Nandanâs utility to the film is the same as that of secularism to a certain political party. Mic drop. Chapter 2: PlotThe movie begins by introducing us to the brothers, whose father is a cop in Agra. Just before passing away fairly early, he takes a pledge from Ronnie to rescue Vikram from any trouble as they grow up orphaned. Vikram replaces his father in the police job and with the help of Ronnieâs fighting skills, keeps getting promoted. Thereâs a Delhi police joke here, but phir mai bolunga toh bologe ki bolta hai. © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Anyway, one thing leads to the other and Vikram is assigned a project in Syria, where he gets kidnapped. Ronnie is on a video call with his brother as this happens, so he, being the adarsh son that he is, decides to go look for his brother in the war-torn country. Of course, he packs his love interest Siya with him. We all know that she would later be used for a ransom-related plot twist. There they meet Akhtar Lahori, played by Vijay Varma. His poorly written character fails to inspire the intended humour that a Nawazudding Siddiqui did in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, with dialogues like (puke alert) âmai yahan shaan o shauqat ke saath aaya tha. Shaan aur Shauqat mere chacha ke ladke.â © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Moving on, Ronnie eventually finds his brother, who manages to pack a few punches in the end, and also to single-handedly take down the Syrian terrorist group lashkar-e-jaish. Trivia: Lashkar means army and jaish also means army, so itâs basically army of army. Genius! 3 Things We Liked Nothing, nothing and nothing. 3 Things We Didnât Like Plot: Director Ahmed Khan is also a choreographer, and alongside Farah Khan, makes for a strong case against Bollywood choreographers turning directors. We donât deserve any more Tees Maar Khans (Rotten Tomatoes rating: 11%). Script: The film and screenplay are written by Farhad Samji of Housefull 4 shame, I mean fame. Heâs the man behind some cringe worthy dialogue and equally bad comic timing. His next venture is Varun Dhawan starrer, Coolie No. 1 remake, and we are really not looking forward to it. Overall stupidity: The film is initially set in Agra but is shot in Jaipur. We paid more attention in our geography classes than the director assumes, trying to pass off Rajasthani architecture as Agraâs and a desert landscape as that of UP. The stupidity doesnât end there: thereâs a small-time local gunda called IPL in the movie, who happens to take cricket shithousery to the next level. If you are planning to watch this movie, especially with your kids, I suggest you stay home and stream some sensible cartoons instead. View the full article
