Kartik Aaryan, who won rave reviews for his performance in Dhamaka, is among the most promising young stars of Bollywood. Last year, he was all over the news after his controversial exit from Karan Johar-produced Dostana 2. Following this, several reports suggested that he lost out on several other big films as well. However, nothing affected his popularity and he still owns a huge fan-following. View this post on Instagram The Pyaar Ka Punchnama star recently attended an award function in Mumbai where he was asked about certain 'influential' people in Bollywood 'targeting' or 'harassing' him. On being asked about the trolling and targeting, Kartik replied, "I don't even read them". When someone from the press asked if he was being ‘bothered’ by someone in Bollywood, he replied and said, "There is nothing like that. Nobody is bothering me. Award le ke jaa raha hoon (I'm taking home an award)". Watch the video here: For the unversed, Dostana 2 was announced by Karan in 2019 with Kartik alongside Janhvi Kapoor and newbie Lakshya in the lead roles. However, last year in an official statement, Dharma Productions had revealed that Kartik is no more a part of the film due to professional circumstances. Back then, there were speculations that the actor lost the film due to his "unprofessionalism". However, he too chose to keep mum about his ouster from the sequel to the 2008 hit. Since then, there has been no concrete update on Dostana 2 and it is being rumoured that the film has been shelved. Talking about his upcoming projects, the actor will next be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-starring Kiara Advani. He has also wrapped up shooting for Freddy with Alaya F and is currently busy with the Hindi remake of Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo titled Shehzada. Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan is slowly and steadily cementing her place as one of the most prominent names in the industry. Sara, who is the daughter of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, made her debut back in 2018 with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. © Zee5 Well, fair to say it's been a decent four years of experience for the actress, who has done a wide range of films in that period with Love Aaj Kal, Coolie No. 1, Rohit Shetty's Simmba, and the recently released Atrangi Re, which was directed by Anand L Rai. Now, while she is all ready and set to go for newer projects, it appears that she is actually absolutely done with a certain aspect of Bollywood film. According to Sara, there is one thing that she doesn't want to do anymore, and it's starring in any more Bollywood remakes. As you know, Sara starred alongside Varun Dhawan in Coolie No 1, which was the remake of the 1995 film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. Who knew the announcement of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi theatrical release would turn out to be controversial. After the announcement of the theatrical release of the Hindi dubbed version, Manish Shah of Goldmines later stated that he has decided to withdraw the big screen release owing to the intervention by Allu Arjun’s father who is the producer of the original Telugu version and also the co-producer of the Hindi remake. In an interview with India Today, he had called Shehzada actor Kartik Aaryan “unprofessional” and alleged that he threatened to walk out of the Hindi remake if Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version released in theatres. However, now the makers of Shehzada have come out in support of Kartik and have quashed the claims made by Manish Shah about the star of their film. © Instagram/Kartik Aaryan In a statement, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series called Kartik one of the most professional actors he has worked with. He said, “We, the producers, felt that Shehzada should release in theatre first and not the Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, hence we requested Goldmines not to release the Hindi version, and release of the film is always the producers' decision and not actor. I have known Kartik since the beginning of his career. We have done multiple films together. He is one of the most professional actors I have worked with.” The Hindi remake is helmed by Rohit Dhawan of Desi Boyz and Dishoom fame, elder brother of Varun Dhawan. He praised Kartik saying, “Kartik’s intent and excitement for Shehzada is unquestionable. It’s been a joy working with him. As director and actor, we share a solid bond and nothing can come in the way of our love for the film.” Aman Gill, who is the co-producer of Shehzada added, "After finding out about the Hindi version release of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, we the producers on our own, requested Manishji to not release it. Kartik is going all out for Shehzada as an actor and only discusses how he can contribute to make this the biggest film for everyone involved, he is one of most dedicated actors in the industry.” Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo released in 2020 and turned out to be the biggest hit of Telugu cinema outside, of course, the Baahubali films. As many of Kartik’s fans are looking forward to watching the movie, it’s sad how his unprofessional behaviour has been called out again. In an exclusive chat with India Today, producer Manish Shah revealed that Shehzada actor Kartik Aaryan reportedly threatened to walk out of the remake if the dubbed Hindi version was released in theaters. View this post on Instagram It was earlier slated to release on the 26th of January. However, it got cancelled after producer Manish Shah had a meeting with the makers of Shehzada. Shah said, "The makers of Shehzda were not keen to release the Hindi version in cinemas. Also, Kartik Aaryan said if the movie was released in theaters, he would walk out of the film, which would have caused Shehzada producers a loss of Rs 40 crores. It was extremely unprofessional of him.” Manish also added, "I have known Shehzada producers for 10 years. I cannot have people who are close to me losing ₹40 crores, so I dropped it. By doing this, I ended up losing ₹20 crores. I spent ₹2 crores only on dubbing. I wanted this film to be bigger than Pushpa: The Rise. If I do not release the film I will lose money, so now I am releasing it on my channel.” View this post on Instagram Making his stance clear, he stated, “I would not have done anything for Kartik Aaryan, I only did this because of Allu Arvind. Why would I do this for a Bollywood hero? I don't know him." Shehzada is being produced by Allu Aravind (who also co-produced Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo) in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar and Aman Gill. This is not the first time that Kartik has been called out for his unprofessional attitude on the film sets. It was reported that Dharma Productions dropped him from Dostana 2 because of his unprofessionalism. Reporting the development, DNA had earlier quoted a source close to the production house saying, “Dharma has decided to replace Kartik Aaryan in ‘Dostana 2’. Kartik expressed creative differences over the script of Dostana 2 after one and a half years. However, he completed nearly 20 days of shoot in 2019 after reading the same script and agreeing to it.” The source also added that lack of clarity on dates by the actor was also another reason to drop him from the project. “Also, lack of clarity on the commitment of dates from his agency is another reason. It has never happened in the history of Dharma Productions that an actor has shot a film for a while and then walked out alleging creative issues. Therefore, Dharma has decided to not work with Kartik Aaryan in future as well,” the source said.
