The 94th Academy Awards will go down in the history as one of the most criticised ceremonies for the way it handled the show flow, in general, and also one of the most controversial due to actor Will Smith losing his cool over Chris Rock’s joke on his wife and actress Jada Pinkett Smith and slapping him on stage. Soon after the video clip of the incident went viral, many called out The Academy for not escorting Smith out of the ceremony who went on to win the Best Actor award to a standing ovation from the who’s who of the industry. © The Academy Now, The Academy has released a statement where it has been revealed that it did ask Will Smith to leave the Oscars ceremony immediately after the incident but the star refused. The Academy also admitted that they could’ve handled the situation better and have initiated disciplinary action against the King Richard star. The statement read, “While we would like to clarify that Mr Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently. The Board of Governors today initiated disciplinary proceedings against Mr Will Smith for violations of the Academy's Standards of Conduct, including inappropriate physical contact, abusive or threatening behaviour, and compromising the integrity of the Academy. "Mr Smith is being provided at least 15 days' notice of a vote regarding his violations and sanctions, and the opportunity to be heard beforehand by means of a written response. At the next board meeting on April 18, the Academy may take any disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, or other sanctions permitted by the Bylaws and Standards of Conduct.” © The Academy Meanwhile, Jim Carrey shared his thoughts with CBS Mornings about the slap, “I was sickened. I was sickened by the standing ovation, felt like Hollywood is just spineless en masse. And it just - it really felt like, 'Oh, this is a really clear indication that we're not the cool club anymore.” He added that he’d have sued Will Smith if he was at Chris Rock’s place, “I'd have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video was going to be there forever. It's going to be ubiquitous. You know, that insult is going to last a very long time. Things were getting tense and moving out of the country and across the border wasn’t easy at all. 2020 was a year that turned things for Sonu Sood as he turned the fate for so many other people. His helpline continues to help everyone in need. However, like the saying goes, ‘good things come to good people’, Sonu Sood also emerged a reel hero in a new light. In many interviews, he mentioned how filmmakers approached him for better and bigger roles now after his philanthropic ways touched the hearts of millions. Talking about his experiences of working with big stars like Chiranjeevi, he shared an interesting story in one such interview. During the shoot of his film Acharya, he explained how megastar Chiranjeevi once refused to hit him on screen and the reason was very interesting. “We were doing an action sequence and Chiranjeevi sir said, ‘You being in the film is a big problem for us because I can’t hit you in the action scene’. In a country that prefers to have its singers adopt a simpler demeanour, Bappi Lahiri chose to be extravagant. And his maximalist lifestyle extended to the tunes he created as well, with catchy hooks and heavy synth bass providing the bedrock to some of his biggest hits across the year years. His relevance to global music can never be underestimated. What’s your name?’ Maine kaha Bappi Lahiri (When he came to Mumbai, I was sitting somewhere. He came up to me and noticed my gold chain with a Lord Ganesha pendant. He said, ‘Oh my God, fantastic!
