  1. "As players we always look forward to this India-Pakistan clash as we don't play each other anywhere else," India's KL Rahul says
  2. The most prized source of current entertainment is the ongoing IPL which has kept cricket fans glued to the screens. Yesterday’s match was between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow SuperGiants at the Wankhede Stadium, and the high–voltage match was quite competitive. Amongst the large crowd of cricket fanatics were Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty and her parents who were in the box cheering for her beau KL Rahul, who is also the LSG captain. For the second time this season, his batting order was quite out of place as he was stumped by Royal Rajasthan bowler Trent Boult and ended his game on a duck. While people on Twitter turned this moment into a meme for their own entertainment, an interesting spin given to the meme was that it happened in the presence of Suniel Shetty, aka his girlfriends’ father. *KL Rahul appears on the screen* Suniel Shetty : pic.twitter.com/2YKf7LISIT — Vodka + Cyanide (@Riskiest_Poison) December 6, 2020 Just Suniel Shetty having a conversation with Athiya Shetty during #LSGvRR. #IPL2022 #KLRahul #CricketTwitter pic.twitter.com/qktBU5Ots4 — Harshit Poddar (@harshitpoddar09) April 10, 2022 U.N.B.E.L.I.E.V.A.B.L.E KL Rahul did exactly same tonight as Suniel Shetty did in film "Dhadkan". pic.twitter.com/LpnNEJgNtg — DK (@CricCrazyDK) April 10, 2022 Some fans made jokes about him facing pressure from his ‘sasur ji’ and more jokes were made about the game in this context. © Instagram © Instagram © Instagram Well, jokes apart, here’s hoping the next game proves to be a good win for KL Rahul and his team, whether his ‘sasur ji’ is in the stands or not. 4. KL Rahul's strike-rate was a huge talking point when he was the captain of Punjab Kings in the last couple of seasons. He scored over 600 runs in the last two years but his strike rate was below 140 and that is what cost Punjab Kings dearly as they failed to make it to the playoffs on both occasions. In KL Rahul's defence, his supporters said that Punjab had an inexperienced batting line-up and that is what forced him to play cautiously. KL Rahul completed his 50th fifty in T20 format. #LSG|| #Klrahul pic.twitter.com/fnmLuxXfD2 — 199 (@CharanSmoki) April 4, 2022 Ahead of the ongoing 15th edition of IPL, the 29-year-old was picked up by one of the new franchises -- Lucknow Super Giants. Like Punjab, Lucknow too handed over the captaincy duties to KL Rahul. KL Rahul has played three innings so far for Lucknow and while he failed to got going in the first match, he showed his aggressive side in the next match against Chennai Super Kings, scoring at a strike-rate of 153.85, when his side was chasing a mammoth total of 211. .@LucknowIPL are off to a flying start! In his defence, KL Rahul had to take his time as his team had lost three wickets inside the powerplay. However, in the same situation young Deepak Hooda scored at a quick pace and that led to fans having a go at the Lucknow Super Giants skipper. 5. Despite hitting over 300 runs in the 2019 World Cup, KL Rahul says he was 'frustrated' when he was left out of the selection for the second series. India's World Cup campaign ended with disappointment after being outplayed by New Zealand in the first semi-final at the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester, despite finishing the league stage as the No. 1 team at the top of the points table, with their sole defeat coming against England. India fell short by 18 runs in reply to New Zealand's 239/8, putting an end to Virat Kohli's team's strong run in the competition. Despite injuries, the Men in Blue were ahead of every other team at the end of the league stage. Shikhar Dhawan suffered a fractured wrist and had to be ruled out of the game early on. Vijay Shankar was later ruled out due to an ankle ailment, and Rishabh Pant was called up in his place. Due to Dhawan's injury, KL Rahul, who batted at No. 4 in India's first two matches, was elevated to open alongside Rohit Sharma, and he performed admirably, scoring 361 runs in nine matches, including two fifties and a century. However, with India set to play the West Indies soon after the World Cup, Rahul was dismissed from the squad, an event that the star batter reflected on. Rahul described the situation as "frustrating", but said he found solace in Chris Gayle in order to get through it. In a conversation with Gaurav Kapur on the show Breakfast with Champions, Rahul dived deep into the narrative. He shared how following the World Cup, Team India played a series in the West Indies. Rahul had played in the World Cup and performed admirably, but he was dropped when the team headed to the Caribbean. Rahul revealed that he was contacting Chris Gayle, who requested that he come by the pool, where he was having a drink. The next day was his 300th game, so he was overjoyed and invited some buddies around. So he set out. The 'Universe Boss' met with Rahul and talked to him about his dismissal. The Lucknow SuperGiants skipper admitted that being dropped after a respectable performance in the World Cup was frustrating, but that the West Indies legend's guidance helped him land a better possibility. View this post on Instagram "You know, I obviously was frustrated because I played the World Cup and I'm not playing this. Makes no sense. So, I was just talking to him and he's like 'See you can always say that you're not playing because of 100 other reasons but it's in your hands whether you play or not. If 70 is not enough, get 150. If you are getting 150, get 200 if that's not enough. That's how you need to look at things. If a 600-run IPL season is not enough, then get 800. Or like you're getting 50s, 60s in the World Cup, you should have converted that and gotten 100-120s. Then no one has the power to drop you'," he added. View the full article
  6. KL Rahul’s captaincy has been a hot topic of debate for quite some time now. There have been numerous occasions in the past when people have blamed his poor decision-making for the side’s loss – be it with the national team or the IPL franchise. The 29-year-old opener began a new chapter in his IPL career as the skipper of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) but he endured the worst start possible. First, he got out for a golden duck and then his team failed to defend 68 runs in the last five overs and suffered a five-wicket defeat against Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans. View this post on Instagram LSG got off to a terrible start, losing their top four batters inside the first five overs with only 29 runs on the board, but half-centuries from Deepak Hooda and young Ayush Badoni steadied their ship and guided them to 158 for six – a below-par but a competitive total. Gujarat Titans also lost two early wickets but skipper Hardik Pandya and Matthew Wade held their innings together forging a 57-run stand for the third wicket. However, they both fell in quick succession which allowed KL Rahul’s side to tighten its grip on the match. View this post on Instagram With 68 required off 30 balls, Lucknow were in a position of strength and everyone thought LSG would get over the line if their skipper played his cards smartly. But Rahul's one decision changed the whole complexion of the match. The LSG skipper handed the ball to Deepak Hood to bowl the 16th over of the innings even though he had overs left from his mainstream bowlers. View this post on Instagram Hooda’s brilliance with the ball in his first two overs, wherein he conceded only eight runs and also picked up a crucial wicket of Wade, perhaps convinced Rahul he was the right man to deliver a crucial over. But it turned out to be his biggest mistake of the night, which perhaps cost them the game. Not only this, for some reason KL Rahul also didn’t complete the full quota of his lead pacer Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera. It was a decision that many fans failed to comprehend, more so after watching him bowling the penultimate over of the match, wherein he gave away only nine runs, which included two boundaries. View this post on InstagramAfter the match, angry supporters once again started slamming the Karnataka batter’s messed up game plan for the side’s loss in their IPL debut match against fellow debutants. Many fans even argued that so far KL Rahul doesn't deserve to be in contention for India’s captaincy in the future. Under his leadership, Punjab Kings lost several close-fought encounters and the fans were afraid that the same trend might continue at LSG in IPL 2022. Avesh or Chameera will end up bowling one over less. Not sure whose call it was, but KL Rahul as captain is very, very ordinary. Should be nowhere near India's future captaincy debate #CricketTwitter — Rohit Sankar (@imRohit_SN) March 28, 2022KL Rahul, you can do better as a captain. But buckle up man. Both in Captaincy and in batting. When Deepak Hooda gives you a couple of good overs, thank your stars. Don't give him a 3rd over - that too at the death. There is a reason he is a part timer and not a regular bowler! — Cricketjeevi (@wildcardgyan) March 28, 2022Sanjiv Goenka after watching KL Rahul 's captaincy#IPL2022 #IPL #GTvsLSG #LSGvsGT pic.twitter.com/QFQZM9UAQ1 — Arnav Singh (@Arnavv43) March 28, 2022LSG might have lost the match but there were plenty of positives for them. The side showed that they were not overly dependent on KL Rahul and they could post decent totals even if they failed. The LSG players and supporters would like to forget this defeat as a small blip and start afresh when they face defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next game at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday (March 31). 7. KL Rahul shifted base from Punjab Kings to Lucknow Super Giants for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The 29-year-old led the Punjab-based franchise for two years and even won the Orange Cap in one season but failed to take his side to the title. During his time with the Punjab-based franchise, KL Rahul scored over 600 runs in both seasons but the pace at which he got those runs became a huge talking point. So proud of the way the boys played tonight Happy to see the Orange Cap & the purple cap in the @lionsdenkxip Congrats @klrahul11 4 leading from the front & for the unbeaten 132. Rahul was named captain of Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the upcoming season and he will go out in the middle with a point to prove. KL Rahul has to be the most fraud orange cap holder in IPL history. Actually lost Punjab almost half of their games bc of his super slow batting. — Todd Chavez (@khanak_08) November 1, 2020 The 29-year-old batter got a chance to lead the Indian team in a Test match and three ODIs but the team lost all four matches. Former India opening batter Aakash Chopra feels KL Rahul should prove to the world what he can do as a captain. Chopra also added that while playing for Punjab Kings, the team required him to bat in a particular manner and that is why he did not score freely but now in a new season, there will be no excuses left for him to hide behind if he fails to up his strike-rate. "Rahul has a clean slate like Hardik Pandya. But Rahul's big challenge will be that he was playing slow for Punjab Kings because the team was like that. Now the team would have been picked after asking you. Tell how good a captain you are because you don't have an excuse now, there is no story now," Aakash Chorpa said in his YouTube channel. Chopra further mentioned that the presence of two great cricketing minds in Andy Flower and Gautam Gambhir will help him improve his game plan. "Now play freely. This is now or never, do or die. This is what matters, Gautam Gambhir and Andy Flower will be there, two good brains. You are a good captain, you are a phenomenal player, get the best out of yourself," Chopra concluded. 8. KL Rahul has been one of the most consistent batters in the IPL in the last few years. Since 2018, he has never finished outside of the Top 3 in the Orange Cap race, which speaks volumes of his incredible consistency. In fact, no one accumulated more runs than the 29-year-old in the last four editions of the cash-rich league combined. Despite his immaculate performances, it wasn’t a huge surprise when Rahul parted ways with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in search of a fresh challenge. View this post on Instagram The franchise obviously didn’t want to let go of a prolific run-scorer who had scored in excess of 500 runs in each of the last four seasons for them but they couldn’t do anything to stop him. The right-handed opener had initially intended to go into the auction but then he agreed to a contract with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), after they made him the most expensive player in the tournament. View this post on Instagram During the auction, the PBKS head coach Anil Kumble had revealed that they obviously wanted to retain Rahul but they couldn’t come to an agreement as he had decided to enter the auction. But before the mega auction, he joined LSG who picked him as their first-choice draft by paying a staggering Rs 17 crore. View this post on Instagram His big-money gave air to various conversations. People started wondering if his decision was only inspired by ambitions of winning the IPL trophy or was it only because of monetary reasons. For months, Rahul maintained his silence on the issue but recently during an interaction with Red Bull, he shared why he called time on his four-year-long stint at the Punjab-based outfit and moved on to the next challenge. View this post on Instagram Without throwing any light on what went wrong or what were the issues he faced at his previous franchise, Rahul shared that the decision was solely based on his growing ambition. “I have been with them for four years and I’ve had a great run with them. Just wanted to see what’s in store for me and if there’s a new journey for me,” said the LSG skipper. “It was a tough call obviously. I have been attached to Punjab for a long time. I wanted to see if I can do something else,” he added. View this post on Instagram Those who have been following IPL for long know that the actual reason why Rahul parted ways with PBKs was because of the kind of abysmal result they had produced in the last few seasons. While their captain finished in the top echelons of the batting charts, the franchise finished sixth in each of the last three editions. All these years, he towed the franchise on his shoulders single-handedly and perhaps was fed up with the side’s lack of competitiveness. A new beginning at LSG would perhaps help him change all of that. View the full article
  9. You must have heard the phrase 'a man with a golden heart' lots of times but Indian cricketer KL Rahul just gave an example of what this phrase truly means in real life. The wicket-keeper batter donated a generous amount of Rs 31 lakh for the treatment of 11-year-old Varad, who is suffering from a rare blood disorder. The young kid needed 35 lakh for his treatment and that is when his father started a fundraiser. As KL Rahul, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, got to know about the kid, he immediately decided to bear the expenses of the treatment and donated Rs 31 lakh. KL Rahul said he wishes to see Varad get back on his feet and live the dreams he wanted to achieve. “When I came to know about Varad’s condition, my team got in touch with GiveIndia so that we can help him in any way we could. I am glad that the surgery was successful, and he is doing well. I hope Varad gets back on his feet at the earliest and goes on to achieve his dreams. I hope my contribution inspires more and more people to come forward and help those in need,” KL Rahul was quoted as saying by Insidesport. After the news of KL Rahul's generous donation went viral on social media, fans hailed the noble gesture by the 29-year-old cricketer from Karnataka. #well done K.L RAHUL you are doing better and nice job — Aashish Karna (@AashishKarna11) February 22, 2022 A man with golden Hand And Golden heart — Cap America (@ssurya99) February 22, 2022 We need players like him, rohit, Dhoni, virat who do such acts of kindness whether for humans or animals or our mother earth . — Samriddh Bajaj (@BajajSamriddh) February 22, 2022 Great gesture https://t.co/3ZzWf0nbTq — Vivek. But for him, it would have been impossible to carry out the bone marrow transplant in such a short period of time. Thank you, Rahul,” said Varad’s mother. It is great to see cricketers coming out and helping those who are in need. Last year, Virat Kohli helped a former India cricketer by bearing the expenses of treatment of her mother. These gestures prove that our idols are not only great professionals but also kind-hearted individuals as well. View the full article
  10. Harbhajan Singh, former India off-spinner, is one of the greatest match-winners for India across formats. The 41-year-old played over 100 Test matches for the country and picked up 417 wickets in the longest format of the game at an average of 32.46. Recently Harbhajan reacted to a couple of photos of Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid, posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Twitter. In the pictures shared by the Indian board, Dravid was seen bowling off-spin during a net session with the team in Ahmedabad. The images were shared on the same day on the anniversary of Anil Kumble's 10-wicket haul in an innings. Kumble had achieved the milestone in Delhi against Pakistan in 1999. 12. Love it or hate it, Bigg Boss has been the most-loved reality TV series in India. People often abandon logic in order to witness the daily drama on this reality show, which has kept them glued to their TV screens. The show proved to be a turning point for various celebrities including Sunny Leone and Nora Fatehi who went on to make their presence felt in Bollywood. Over the years, many celebrities too participated in the reality show and made headlines during their stay inside the Bigg Boss house. From Shamita Shetty to Rahul Roy, let's take a look at the list of Bollywood actors who were seen as contestants on the TV show. 13. After the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad ahead of the three-match ODI series against the touring West Indies side, team vice-captain KL Rahul was made unavailable for the first match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In his absence, the wicket-keeper of the Men in Blue, Rishabh Pant has been announced as the new deputy in-command, albeit for just one match. From the second ODI onwards, which is also scheduled to take place at the same venue, Rahul will return to his duties. View this post on InstagramAs Pant makes his ascension to the role of vice-captain, former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s press conference from 2017 has reemerged on the internet in which ‘Captain Cool’ has commented about how the wicket-keeper of the squad is always the vice-captain of the team, even if the cricket board doesn’t announce it officially. According to Dhoni, the responsibilities of setting up the field during the match is often given to the wicket-keeper and it is he who needs to make the necessary changes while taking into consideration the inputs from his captain. While Pant’s consideration to be a part of the leadership group in limited-overs cricket may be short-lived, the discussions around him being made the next Team India captain in Test cricket continue to grow stronger. In the eyes of the fans and multiple cricket experts, at the moment, the white-ball captain of the team, Rohit Sharma is leading the race to being crowned the leader in the longest format of the game as well. However, Pant’s chances of making it are not that far-fetched either. View this post on InstagramAnother point that many cricket analysts have raised is that Rohit Sharma will turn 35 years old in April and may have only a couple of years of captainship in him. Therefore, it is equally important for the BCCI to start nurturing the younger players like the 24-year old Pant who is expected to become the face of Indian cricket once names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma take a backseat. In terms of getting experience as a leader, Rishabh Pant did surprisingly well as the skipper of the Delhi Capitals franchise during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League and took his team to the playoffs while being the number one seed based on the points table. With the 2022 season expected to start on March 27, Pant will return in his role as the captain and once again try to bring the trophy to Delhi. View the full article
  14. KL Rahul has established himself as one of the key members of the Indian cricket team across all three formats. His international career has seen a massive turnaround in the last one year. At the start of 2021, he was not sure if his place in the starting XI was secure or not but things turned out in such a way that by the end of the year he was tasked with leading the side against South Africa. View this post on Instagram From being included in the side as a back-up opener for England tour to becoming the first-choice opener across all formats, the Karnataka batter couldn’t have wished for things to unfold any better. Wait… that’s not entirely true. There was one thing he would have loved to pan out differently. You see, whenever he stepped onto the field as the captain, India ended up losing that match. View this post on Instagram Considering his individual performances, no doubt he had a memorable year but his biggest regret must be that he couldn’t guide India to victory neither in Test nor ODIs. Ever since India suffered a whitewash in the ODI series, people have been raising questions over his leadership skills. Many experts have publicly criticised his captaincy and now former India cricketer and current MoS Youth Affairs and Sports of West Bengal Tiwary has also shared his views on the same. View this post on Instagram Rather than mincing words, Tiwary slammed the selectors and asked them what they saw in him before entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the squad. “What did you see in Rahul as captaincy material? Suddenly, they're saying that they're ‘grooming’ him as a future captain. I don't understand how you can groom a captain,” Tiwary told Sportskeeda. View this post on Instagram Reacting to the reports that claimed that the selectors wanted to groom Rahul as a future leader, the former West Bengal skipper said that leadership is an in-born quality, some people have it and some don’t. “A person is either a born leader or he isn't. Captaincy comes naturally, it's an inbuilt quality. Grooming a captain is possible, but the process will take a long time. It will take a player around 20 to 25 games to learn about decision-making, but even then success will not be guaranteed. See, every international match is important for India.” View this post on Instagram The former right-handed batter, who played 12 ODIs for India, said that more than Rahul he was disappointed with the selectors for choosing the wrong person to lead the side. “I'm not blaming Rahul for his captaincy, but I'm disappointed with the selectors, who should identify leadership skills in a player rather than ‘grooming’ a captain. That's why I want to ask the selectors what they saw in Rahul to make him the captain of India,” he added, lambasting the five-member national selection panel chaired by Chetan Sharma. View this post on Instagram Leading the side for the first time, KL Rahul did look clueless at times but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have what it takes to become a leader. We shouldn’t judge him based on one series defeat; it’s too immature. View the full article
  15. Ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur got into some humorous banter with KL Rahul, the newly-announced captain of the Lucknow Super Giants with regards to his budget for the club. His fellow Man in Blue, Yuzvendra Chahal responded to Thakur's question with a hilarious jab of his own. In the video which has been shared all over the internet ever since first being published online, Shardul can be heard asking the Indian vice-captain KL Rahul about the kind of budget he would have set for him. The deputy in-command cheekily responded by saying “base price” suggesting that they would not pay them more than they had to. View this post on Instagram This is where the notorious Yuzvendra Chala made his entry with a rib-tickling comment of his own. “Bhagwan ke lie budget nahi hota (You do not have a budget for God)," says the spinner while referring to the long-running joke of Thakur being called “Lord” by his fans and teammates. The Lucknow franchise is one of two new teams joining the Indian Premier League ahead of its 15th season, alongside the still-unnamed Ahmedabad franchise. The RPSG group's Super Giants have already announced that they will have KL Rahul leading the squad this season after acquiring him for INR 17 crore and making him the most expensive IPL buy so far. They also got onboard Marcus Stoinis, the mighty Australian all-rounder for INR 9.2 crore and the young Ravi Bishnoi for INR 4 crore. View this post on Instagram Shardul formerly played for the Rising Pune Supergiants, a team owned by the RSPG organisation that is now out of the league. Following a two-year spell with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Thakur made his way to the Pune franchise for the 2017 season before joining forces with Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings in 2018. He was also instrumental in the franchise's fourth championship success in 2021. “Lord” Shardul's all-around prowess across all formats of the game will put him on the radar for every club, given the increasing desire for a bowling all-rounder in the T20 format, after he was released by CSK ahead of the super auction. 16. KL Rahul, who led the Indian side in the second Test match against South Africa, was given the chance to lead Team India in the absence of regular white-ball captain Rohit Sharma in the three-match ODI series in South Africa. It was the first time KL Rahul was captaining in international cricket and things didn't go as he would have imagined. India lost all the three matches and Rahul’s captaincy debut started with a series sweep. That's that from the final ODI. South Africa win by 4 runs and take the series 3-0. Scorecard - https://t.co/dUN5jhH06v #SAvIND pic.twitter.com/lqrMH4g0U9 — BCCI (@BCCI) January 23, 2022 Apart from his captaincy skills, KL Rahul’s own form with the bat did not help the team as he failed to provide a solid start to the middle-order. Rahul had scores of 12, 55 and 9. His form was so poor that even India’s bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who played two games out of three, managed to score more runs (90) than the Indian captain in the three-match series. Despite conceding the series, India’s head coach and former skipper Rahul Dravid has backed the 29-year-old and said he will get better with time. It’s not easy to end on wrong side of the result," Dravid said in the post-match press conference. “He is just starting out and I think he did a very decent job. He will constantly get better as he captains," the head coach batted for the young skipper. Rahul, who will be leading the Lucknow franchise in the upcoming edition of the IPL, may have the backing of his coach but fans are not happy with the way the team performed in the Rainbow nation and expressed their displeasure on his skills as the skipper. India have been poor in limited-overs cricket since the 2019 World Cup, where they lost to New Zealand in the semi-final. View this post on Instagram We can argue that Rohit Sharma was not there with the team and that could have made the difference but looking at the bigger picture, his absence showed how much the team is relying on one individual and that has been one of the main reasons why we haven’t done well in crucial matches of late. 17. Comedy of errors – there is no better word to describe the incident that transpired between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant during India’s innings in the second ODI against South Africa at Boland Park, Paarl. With the series on the line, everyone expected the visitors to bounce back in style and put up a strong performance in order to keep the series alive. India had already lost two in-form batters in Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli within a span of seven balls and would have lost their skipper as well, had the South African fielders not decided to be too generous to come to their rescue. pic.twitter.com/XbiOphDTar — Hardik (@Hardik_Sedani) January 21, 2022 In the 15th over of the innings, the two Indian batters had a horrible mix-up and were left stranded at the same end. After pushing the ball to the on-side, Pant immediately called for a quick single but rather than looking at his partner he took his eyes off him and almost led to his dismissal. By the time the wicketkeeper-batter could relay his message, Rahul had already reached the striker’s end. Eleven out of 10 times, it would have been out but the Indian captain had the rub of the green and that saved his wicket. There was no other way to explain that. The Proteas skipper collected the ball fair and square and threw it towards Keshav Maharaj at the bowler’s end, who had all the time in his life to clip the bails. If we start compiling a list of the luckiest escapes of all-time, it would be hard to ignore this incident which proves what we witnessed was such a rare sight. Escapes like these happen only once in a blue moon and Rahul was lucky to be the beneficiary. View the full article
  18. Two of the regular members of the Indian cricket team, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are all set to become the latest additions to the BCCI’s A+ level annual contracts which would give them Rs. 7 crore per year just for being a part of the team. This money would be in addition to the match fee they will get for playing in the various formats of the game and the Indian Premier League contracts that they signed with their respective franchises. "KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant all set to move to Grade A+ Category List (7 Crores). And they join Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in the List of Grade A+." - According to PTI — CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) January 20, 2022 KL Rahul, India's opening batsman, has matured as a player and is widely regarded as India's future captain. He has been a regular member of India's white-ball team for a long time, and he has now also established himself as a regular opener in Test cricket. In the absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Rahul had even commanded the Indian Test team. However, some of the fans of the Men in Blue feel as if there were other members in the team who deserved to be higher in the order and should have gotten the A+ deal way before Rahul and Pant got it. Ravichandran Ashwin, who has had an incredible resurgence of his career in all three formats of the game, and Team India’s most in-demand all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are the two cricketers fans were backing up the most for. 19. If you are a Virat Kohli fan, things have not gone the way you wanted them to in the recent past and the last few months have been particularly difficult. It all started with Kohli’s decision to step down as the captain in the Twenty20 format just before the T20 World Cup. Kohli announced his decision weeks before the marquee tournament. In his statement, Kohli expressed his desire to lead the side in the One-Day International and Test format. 20. Before marrying film distributor and producer Anil Thadani, a lot was written about Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s relationship. The actress herself revealed about her engagement with Akshay and how she had caught him 'red-handed' with Rekha and Sushmita Sen. However, this wasn’t the only time Raveena's love life made headlines. In 2002, there were strong rumours that she was in a relationship with Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, who was an eligible bachelor back then. In fact, there were also rumours that she might marry him. © Stardust When Raveena was asked about her link-up rumour with Rahul Dravid, she not only denied dating the cricketer but also went on to say that she doesn’t even know him personally. She told Filmfare, “For God's sake, he is not even an acquaintance. I would have understood had he been a friend or something. Poor fellow, I don't have anything against him, but it's very upsetting. At the moment I am focusing on my work only.” When asked if she has ever met Dravid, Raveena responded in affirmative but added she has male friends in Bollywood and he isn’t one, “I have met him at functions and there was, as usual, a polite exchange of pleasantries. And I go out with friends quite often. He must have been a part of it. I haven't met him, alone, simply because I don't know him so well. I have male friends like Govinda, Suniel Shetty, and Salman Khan. He doesn't figure anywhere.” © BCCL When the actress was further asked about the reason behind the rumours of her link-up with Rahul Dravid of all people, she replied, “I don't know how the whole thing started. Maybe because I am not seeing anybody and he is also an eligible bachelor. People link up when you don't have any remote idea. Recently, I was linked up with Sandeep Chowta (Music Director), for heaven's sake, I don't even know him. The poor fellow called up the next day to apologise. It's ridiculous.” Finally, on being asked if meeting Rahul now will be awkward for her, she replied, “To an extent, yes, it spoils relationships, however polite it is. I will try to be normal if at all I meet him, but I don't think I will bump into him. Don't you think it's high time to take control of situations? Yeah, I will do that, but it will take another six to eight months for me to properly get into that frame of mind. To stop all this I need to see somebody. but work is my focus now.” © Raveena Tandon Instagram Two years later in 2004, Raveena married Anil Thadani. On the other hand, Rahul Dravid got married to Vijeta Pendharkar, a surgeon from Nagpur in 2003. Dravid is currently the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team. View the full article
