  1. Like crying babies on a flight, nagging neighbourhood aunties and uncles who throw a tantrum on anything and everything you do, is a phenomenon that drives me absolutely nuts. When we were younger, they’d throw a fit about playing football in the park, as we grew older it became about making friends with the opposite *** and now, looks like they’ve found another reason to go crazy over. © iStock We are talking about the recent incident that took place in a neighbourhood in New Delhi, where a man was shouted at by 3 uncles and one aunty for walking his dog in the park, even with a leash on. Having read and checked the guidelines by the government carefully, that allowed for people to walk their pets on public grounds as long as they’re on a leash and as long as one cleans after their excreta, this guy decided to take his dog, Ollie, to the park for a stroll. © iStock Little did he know that the ever nagging people of the society will make it the worst day of his life, as they threw a shit-fit. The guy took to Reddit to share the experience as he wrote, “We were having a blast there running laps, while one auntie came and started to tell me it’s not allowed. I told her it is allowed if he’s leashed and if I pick up his potty, but he won’t do it anyway since he just doesn’t in parks. It didn’t matter what I said she kept going on and on, then one uncle joined her, then another one came and another started shouting at me across the whole park.” In fact, he was threatened by the people that they would call the cops on him if he ever brought Ollie back to the park. A few days later, the guy, convinced that he wasn’t wrong to take Ollie, again took his dog to the park and this time handed them copies of the guidelines. He shared, “I told again the same, that it’s been allowed now if the dog is on a leash, only this time I also handed them the “Guidelines for allowing pet dogs in the public parks” which confirm my statement. They proceeded to read it as you can see in the first video and every few minutes they’d come up with a reason why it’s not true. Like: it applies only for New Delhi. It doesn’t mention parks, only public grounds and grounds are not parks.” Subsequently, the cops did arrive and he was taken to the station. “I handed them the guidelines, but uncles told them it’s fake and not applicable here, so they followed. They asked my name, address and contact number and said they’ll file a complaint. I told them I’ll visit their station with a lawyer to clear this up. This all took almost an hour so I asked if I can go home now they said I can,” the man wrote in his post on Reddit. He further went on to add, “They claimed it states it’s not allowed to visit parks when public is there. After about 45 mins they asked me to call my father-in-law to come, because not much of communication was possible. He came, three of the uncles arrived right afterwards. They talked friendly for 5-10 mins and we went home. The complainant wasn’t filed in the end, but Ollie is not allowed in the park.” © iStock Ultimately, a friend of the guy who worked in an animal welfare association told him, “Ok it’s sorted. No one will stop you from taking dogs for walk. They will set up timings as per law which will not be uncomfortable to either parties. Until they do that you are 100% free to take your dog for walk on leash. He [the president] is calling all the residents and telling them not to mess with you.” You see, while I understand the fear and inhibitions of people who don’t have dogs, it is unfair to harass a guy with a pet, who is not just abiding by the guidelines set by the law but also willing to cooperate with you and not make it hard on anyone. 2. The Kashmir Files, the latest release at the box office, has managed to take everyone by a storm with not just the numbers it has been raking up at the box office, but also with what has been shown to the audience, making them weep at the sight of the atrocities that the Kashmiri Pandits had to face back in the 1990s. © Zee Studios Taking us painfully through the turn of events that preceded the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the state by ravaging Islamic gangs who murdered, raped and simply chased away nearly half a million Kashmiri Pandits, Vivek Agnihotri opened what seems like a can of tears, as audiences dissolve in heart-break and hard-hitting facts while still in their seats at the theatres. With an overwhelming response from people, who have claimed to have come back home feeling shook, several people who had witnessed the tragedy with their own eyes, took to Twitter to share their first-hand accounts of watching the movie. Message from my father about #TheKashmirFiles pic.twitter.com/fF5UDgAx5L — Samay Raina (@ReheSamay) March 13, 2022Samaybhai, feel really sorry to see what you people had to go through in your own country. I hope kashmiri pandits gets justice. — Vivek (@Topredd) March 13, 2022 A user shared a screenshot of a text message he received from his father, where he wrote, “Abhi film dekh ke aagaye..It was painful for sweety and me to see all this again..we were sobbing and crying..last scene is of vandhama massacre..i was the first journalist to reach there that morning..i saw 23 dead bodies there..wahi scene last wala hai”. Your father must have gone through very much! I am right now in the cinema hall, writing this in the intermission! First part was haunting, I don't know how the people who have suffered must have felt! But to portray all this in this manner! Kudos to the whole team — Swayam (@SwayamSah) March 13, 2022Unfortunately, nothing happened to people who lost everything, till date. Politicians across parties just exploited the same people again & again till date. — Nilabja Dey (@Feluda71) March 13, 2022No offense, but exactly what justice mean to you. Personally I think, whenever these kind of things happen, the best we can do after 30 years is to make sure this never get repeated and people should always remember what can happen when extremists forces are not stopped. — Shakil Alam (@itxshakil) March 13, 2022 With almost 8 thousand retweets, several people on Twitter have responded to the tweet saying how it was truly ‘heartbreaking’. One user wrote, “Your father must have gone through very much! I am right now in the cinema hall, writing this in the intermission! First part was haunting, I don't know how the people who have suffered must have felt! But to portray all this in this manner! Kudos to the whole team.” As a kasshmiri pandit please adress that not one is promoting that film Well it does not need any promotion but why no is promoting it — Nikunj Jain (@NikunjJ35725500) March 13, 2022 Another Kashmiri Pandit replied to the tweet as he wrote “As a Kashmiri pandit please adress that not one is promoting that film. Well, it does not need any promotion but why no is promoting it.” A question that quite a lot of people wondered. Infact, in a movie review by Koimoi from a Kashmiri Pandit himself, the writer claims that when he took his mother along to watch the movie, she couldn’t help but relate to the gut-wrenching scenes in the movie that are being called as close as cinema could have come to reality. Last scene are from Wandhama massacre in 1998. I have watched movie a day back and its not going from my head. All scenes are flashing up, I wonder what our fellow citizens from Kashmir who left their soul and moved must be going through. — Roshni Gandhi (@roshshah89) March 13, 2022Samay. I sincerely pray for strength to your family. I am so sorry your family had to go through this. At the same time your previous tweets prove that you are confused and want to fit in circles. I humbly request you to take stance be strong headed in these matters. — Adishesh (@Adishesh2) March 13, 2022 Wishing immense support and strength to Kashmiri Pandits out there who have witnessed the monstrosity first hand, users are dropping comments saying, “Last scene are from Wandhama massacre in 1998. I have watched movie a day back and its not going from my head. All scenes are flashing up, I wonder what our fellow citizens from Kashmir who left their soul and moved must be going through.” I love it that you're speaking your heart out man. **** the cancel culture and the leftist ecosystem pressure. More power to you and your family! God bless, and #JusticeToKPs — Prateek Chachra (@ThatReactDev) March 13, 2022 Guess, if simply watching a movie can rock people to their core with such a hard-hitting portrayal of what happened, we can only imagine what those who actually witnessed the genocide actually felt like. 3. Dating in the modern-day age is nothing short of a minefield. With the boom of modern-day dating apps, one really doesn’t know what or who to expect, once you’ve made your interest known. Alyssa Hodges, 20, and Max Silvy, 25, met up last September for what was supposed to be their fourth date post-matching on Tinder, however, things took a turn for the unexpected as she went into labour. For many men in the dating pool, seeing someone with a child from a former partner becomes a sticking point. But Max was unfettered about being there for Alyssa, which is why he is being hailed as the ‘Man Of The Year’ by the people of the internet after he supported his Tinder date as she went through with delivering her new-born child. © Kennedy News and Media Max explained why he swiped right on Alyssa, “There was something that caught my eye about Alyssa. Normally I wouldn't swipe right on a pregnant girl, but there was just something about her. On being there for Alyssa through her pregnancy, he shared, "I wouldn't say the experience was overwhelming but I was anxious. I hadn't prepared mentally the way Alyssa had, so coming in late [like I did] was a rapid process. Anxiety was the biggest thing. There were so many unknowns, so many things that I didn't know about becoming a dad. There's a lot of learning that comes with being a new dad, but me and Ollie are bonding quite well." Alyssa, opened up about her dating experiences as she said, "I was about six and a half months pregnant when I went on Tinder, and I clearly stated that on my bio. I didn't want to lead anyone on, so I was being open and honest. I wanted them to know what they were getting into right off the bat.” © Kennedy News and Media Then eight-months pregnant, Alyssa had planned to pick up Max from the airport, but she hadn’t accounted for her water breaking so soon, thus she was immediately rushed to the closest hospital. Her Tinder date ended up joining her directly at the hospital, instead of ghosting or abandoning her at such a crucial moment in her life. Alyssa waxes lyrical about Max, “He hopped into a taxi when he got off the plane and came to the hospital and was there for me. I was contracting for those days and Max was with me the whole time. The birth itself was about seven hours." © Kennedy News and Media She continued, "I felt alone and Max carried me through that week. Every time I couldn't do something, Max picked me up. He's set me up to succeed in motherhood.” Furthermore, Alyssa opened up about the realities of being a single mother to a child in this world, “These days, there are a lot of unfortunate stories about men who take off when the woman becomes pregnant. Then here's someone who comes in whilst you're pregnant and is very actively involved in raising the child. It's unheard of. I'm very lucky." Strange times have the power to bring people together in the most unexpected of ways, and that seems to be the case with this couple as well, with Max stepping up and supporting Alyssa through her transition into becoming a mother. © Kennedy News and Media The new mother confessed her feelings for Max, as she said, "Even though I knew I liked him at the time, anything could have happened. I'd just been in a relationship where I thought it would last, and it didn't. So I did think 'What if this doesn't work out?', but it has and it was the best decision. I don't regret it." The obvious evidence of their incredible bond is the fact the duo are planning to move in together. This gives them more time together as they raise Ollie. Seemingly impressed by Max, Alyssa added how the people of the internet have been hailing him as the collective’s prince charming, "On TikTok, everybody is asking if Max has a brother, calling him 'man of the year' and saying we were the cutest little family. It was a great reaction.” View the full article
  4. Virat Kohli became only the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches for the country when he took the field in Mohali in the first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka last week. The former India captain is known to take the field with a win at all cost attitude and often his approach towards the game is mistaken for arrogance. While he wears his heart on his sleeve on the field, off the field Kohli has shown time and again how much he cares about his fans and similar scenes were on display at the IS Bindra stadium after India's emphatic win over Sri Lanka. Caption This #YehHaiNayiDilli #INDvSL @RishabhPant17 @imVkohli @ImRo45 pic.twitter.com/xUoCFhIBmX — Delhi Capitals (@DelhiCapitals) March 7, 2022 India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs to go 1-0 up in the two-match series. While Kohli failed to make his landmark Test memorable by scoring a century, he did cross the 8,000-run mark in the longest format of the game after scoring 45 runs in the first innings. Once the game was done, Indian players were boarding the bus back to their hotel and that is when a disabled fan, who calls himself the unofficial 12th man of the Indian team, received a special gift from Kohli. Fans were in awe of Kohli seeing the heartwarming gesture by the 33-year-old batter and flooded Twitter by lavishing praise on him. 5. Back when there was no such thing as being a YouTuber, and mobile internet was still crazy expensive, content creators like Sahil Khattar were laying the foundations of whole new internet culture. He was one of the first content creators in India who truly harnessed the power of the Internet, specifically, video content. © Instagram/sahilkhattar Almost a decade later, the actor/YouTuber has ventured into films and has been rather impressive. The journey hasn’t been easy, especially for someone who is “follicly challenged,” as Khattar would put it. Being bald can be a curse for a lot of men, even when they do not have to face a camera to make their living. So how did Sahil overcome this pitfall and manage to break the stereotypes that are associated with bald actors? We asked him just that in a recent chat. Following are the edited excerpts. © Instagram/sahilkhattar How has your journey from being one of India’s most recognised creators on YouTube to the movies been? Well, it has been exhilarating, tough and natural. Natural is a great word because I never knew naturally one day I’ll be cast in the biggest film of 2021. Everyone wants to become a star. Pick anyone, from anywhere in the country and tell them that you can make them a star, they will leave everything and will come along with you. Being an actor is different. I want to be an actor who can carry the film on his own merit. © Instagram/sahilkhattar Fortunately, that has started happening. So yeah my journey has been fulfilling. I am grateful to everybody who supported me. When I came to Bombay, I literally slept in a one-room kitchen. I didn't even have a proper mattress. I used to walk to places and save money just so that I could have breakfast the next day. From being there to where I am now, I just have to say thank you to everybody who's helped me, who supported me, who has liked my work, and especially my parents who have been there through thick and thin. © Instagram/sahilkhattar 83 isn’t exactly your Bollywood debut, it was a film called, 200 Halla Ho. Tell us something about that film. 83 was my box office debut or the big-ticket debut, whereas 200 Halla Ho was my OTT debut. It is a film about this gangster/serial killer called, Akku Yadav, from Nagpur who was one of the deadliest serial killers in the country., I just jumped on the opportunity thinking that finally, I could break away from ‘Sahil-Khattar-the-funny-guy’ image that I have. It was great to play such a grey character. I got great reviews for a film that had Amol Palekar. This is when I realised that I do have potential. This is also why 83 happened. © Instagram/sahilkhattar You are one of the very few actors we have in Bollywood who is naturally bald. Has that ever hindered you in getting roles? Of course, all the time. I am just happy now people are warming up to the idea, but it has always been a problem. I would not get the part of a romantic lead, an action hero, a villain or even a comedian because I was bald. I was doing a lot of work on YouTube, television, and even shows and stuff, but even then, some people would say, ‘oh, but you know he's bald.’ I just didn't understand that at first, but later on, I realised that it's about the eyes getting familiar with people. I got casting opportunities when people realised that I was a chill guy, and fun to hang around with. People feel that bald guys either have a negative look or have a really funny look. But look at Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson or Feroz Khan - everybody has such a good personality, everybody was just so cool. Just because we are follicly challenged or hairless whatever you want to call us, doesn't mean that we could come across as just two personalities. There are more facets to us, right? I don't know, if Ranveer Singh can go bold for Bajirao Mastani, Shahid Kapoor can do it for Haider, why don't you actually get a bald guy to do Bala? © Instagram/sahilkhattar Even now, a lot of bald guys are embarrassed. I want to take all of that out from everybody because I was never embarrassed. Obviously, I was losing hair at a young age. Once I accepted my baldness, my confidence went through the roof. My dad said something beautiful which has stuck with me. He said ‘Whenever you think you have a liability, turn it into an asset and see the light of uniqueness shine on you.’ © Instagram/sahilkhattar Will we ever see you going back to YouTube? When did I ever leave! I still do a lot of brand work and a lot of other content on the platform. Yes, there are some issues with continuity but it takes a lot to stay relevant. Obviously, I'm doing a lot of acting work and television work to stay relevant, as well as grow my career. I plan on being one of those rare talents who is active on all platforms. I am a co-owner of Being Indian now. Earlier it belonged to a media company but everyone thought that I owned it. I just used to do a lot of videos with them. I was the face of it, but now that I'm one of the co-owners, you’re going to see a lot of changes, and a lot of content. I wish to be across all mediums, to the point where no matter what OTT app you open or where you look, you’ll find me. © Instagram/sahilkhattar What’s next for you? Any upcoming movies that you can speak to us about? My goal has always been to follow in the footsteps of Farhan Akhtar. Obviously, because it's relatable. For example, I write, produce, and act, but actually, it mostly started from Hollywood. I draw a lot from Sasha Baron Cohen, Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart, Ricky Gervais - all of them write, act and produce. Why? Because the vision of the joke or content becomes singularly executable and comes out wonderfully. That is what I really want to head towards. I sold two films as a writer/lead actor to some good production houses. So, we're going to start on that very soon. With that, I'm doing a couple of web series. I will keep on anchoring non-fiction shows on television and I will keep on doing YouTube. View the full article
  6. There was a time, probably still is, when just the thought of being able to live with your partner would get you going…hard. Of course, raised as Indian as we are, in the beginning, that only meant marriage. But as and when we grew up, we realized that just beyond a relationship and before marriage, there is a small (rather grey) window that people call a ‘live-in’. Most people in Indian society have looked at the idea of a live-in relationship (after drugs, maybe) more or less like a stick of dynamite - explosive, and with maximum impact on both sides. And trying to neuter that explosion has been Bollywood, which has often painted the idea of living with your partner before marriage in the most idealistic and romantic way possible. © Maddock Films So, at a point, where on one end of the spectrum, people call a live-in relationship a stain on the social fabric of our culture and on another, where it is the most cherished experience of one’s life, here is a guy who is ready to call a spade, a spade and a live-in relationship exactly what it is - hard. Arnav Sahni, 29-years-old, a lawyer and a loyal boyfriend of 10 years recently started living with his partner with the thought to ‘take the relationship to the next level, but not get riddled with the complexities of the big-Indian wedding, yet’. © Arnav Sahni Talking about how he decided on moving in with his partner, Arnav said, “I had never stayed away from my family till now, no boarding, no hostel, never moved away for work. So, the idea of moving out was all the more exciting, however, marriage was not the option we were looking for, because that comes with a lot of responsibilities and a lot of changes. From attending functions to tending to families on each side, which isn’t really mandatory when you’re just dating, we figured that we were not ready to take that kind of responsibility upon us yet.” And just in case you think it was easy on the parents, Arnav shares that it wasn't the case. He elaborated saying, “Of course, our parents went through a culture shock. My parents took it harder than her parents and that was surprising in itself. To turn around the Indian parents’ mentality of ‘itne time se date kar rahe ho, toh shaadi karlo (If you’ve been dating for so long, might as well get married)’ was a little tricky but we somehow managed to get there,” shared Arnav. © Arnav Sahni But what came next wasn’t straight out of a Bollywood movie or a novel. “Before we had moved in together, a live-in relationship was like a fantasy. It was the stuff of dreams. But when you actually get down to it and practical nuances are added, you realize that your dreams don’t always translate into a similar-looking reality.” “Yes, there are a lot of things that are just wonderful and make you feel secure and in love all over again. But there are also a lot of challenges that we didn’t anticipate facing as a couple." © Arnav Sahni And highlighting one of the most overlooked problems, Arnav says, "Take getting distracted for instance. While people tell you all about how wonderful it is to be in your partner’s presence all day, try working from home with them, with ongoing arguments. It’s a do or die situation with a shotgun on the table, complaining about slow wi-fi.” He went on to share that a live-in isn’t the piece of cake most people take it to be. It is a continuous process that he describes by saying, “People escape marriage and pick a live-in because they think it is not as much work. But a live-in is just as much work. The expenses, the chores, and having to do your own work because now you’re in a house of equals where no one is there to coddle you anymore, is all just the tip of the iceberg.” © Arnav Sahni Stressing on one of the most crucial parts of a live-in, Arnav said, “The real challenge is to navigate some ‘me time’. When you’re living with your partner in the same house, in the same vicinity, it’s difficult to get the time you need to process your own thoughts and challenges as an individual. Me-time even in today’s world is rather underrated in a relationship, much like the health benefits of masturbating. Communication is the key to a relationship but the catch is to be able to comprehend your own thoughts and opinions when you need to.” He also opened up about the kind of insecurities that die down when you’re living with your partner. “There is a paradigm shift when you start living with your partner. Sometimes you tend to go to a dark side and get insecure in a relationship, wondering where they are, what they’re doing, but when you start living together, that gets taken care of. There is a certain level of intimacy and security that you ascend to, as a couple. But at the same time, there is a boon and bane. While you don’t worry about being insecure, you do worry about getting complacent.” points out Arnav. © Arnav Sahni Talking more about it, he said, “There are ‘fewer’ so-called date nights because your concept of date night changes to staying home in sweats and ordering in. And that thrill of dressing up, going out, booking a stay-cation is all subdued under the blanket of comfort. That’s when the concept of ‘taking for granted’ starts sneaking up on you.” Perhaps, just like anything and everything in life, a live-in too comes with many strings attached. Ultimately, it may not be as romantic as Karan Johar may make it seem, but not as bad (or even at all) as the dated society may have you believe. And at the end of the day, you need to keep your rose-tinted glasses aside to decide whether or not it’s worth it. Because as far as Arnav is concerned, he is all game! And the good thing is, he won’t be alone at winning, or at losing it! View the full article
  7. Ever since we were little kids, we’ve always been urged to do one good deed every day, even if it is as small as giving someone a compliment. And while most of us are quick to preach the same to others, when the time comes, people only seldom ever step up to help others. We say this after a father and son recently were left stranded on the road and despite several passersby at the spot, no one chose to help them out. Well, no one except one Swiggy delivery boy, who people are now calling a ‘hero’. Swiggy Delivery Boy Helps Save Man's Life, Here's The Full Story https://t.co/1hRSZfqwyj — mannainfinitysoul (@mannainfinitys1) February 2, 2022 Being lauded on social media is a delivery boy who, on December 25th, helped save the life of an elderly man when he fell ill on the road itself. Mumbai-based Col (Retd) Man Mohan Malik who got sick was being rushed to the hospital by his son in a car, however due to heavy traffic on the roads, the father and son found themselves stuck. Pleading for help from those who passed them by on a two-wheeler, not one person stopped and helped them in need. © Twitter/Swiggy Finally, a delivery boy from Swiggy stopped to help them out. Col. Malik recalled, “Suddenly, we saw a Swiggy delivery person across the road. He was moving from Reclamation towards the hospital. I asked my son to request him for help as my situation was deteriorating quickly.” He further went on to narrate, “As we approached the hospital, we found the gates were closed. The Swiggy delivery executive requested the security guard who was stationed at a distance to open the gate as there was a “serious patient” requiring immediate admission to the emergency ward. He then went on to also inform the staff, requesting them to act at the earliest. The medical team rushed to the spot, and the last I remember, I was being wheeled into the hospital.” [1/1] 25th December I had to rush my dad to the hospital in a critical condition. Malik also showed gratitude to the generosity of Mrunal as he wrote, “After several weeks at the hospital, I am well. All I could think about was the young boy who gave me a new lease of life. 8. Tara Sutaria, who is happy with the positive response she received for Milan Lutharia's Tadap opposite Ahan Shetty, recently got a pleasant surprise after a fan got the actress' face tattooed on his hand. Well, fans sometimes do such crazy things to get the attention of their favourite stars. However, social media fans trolled Tara's fan because he was snapped with Katrik Aaryan too in a viral video, earlier this month. View this post on Instagram The exact reason behind netizens trolling the fan is because he used the same trick in Katrik's case as well. While interacting with the Pati Patni Aur Woh star, the young fan had flaunted a tattoo of Kartik's face on his chest. Yes, you read that right! At that time as well, people had called him an attention seeker. Well, he is the same guy and social media users have again called him out for using such tricks to get "attention". In the video, Tara is all smiles as she poses with the fan who is seen flaunting the tattoo. She sweetly thanked him for getting her tattoo on his hand. Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram As soon as Viral Bhayani, a well-known paparazzi, posted the video on Instagram, netizens started trolling the young guy. A user wrote, "He’s the same guy who got a tattoo of Kartik Aryan ! And now of her. People not realising it’s just a temporary tattoo and he is just trying to get famous". Another comment reads, "Bad obsession!! Is se better padhai karo, army join karo!! Inka tattoo banwa k kiya mila!" "Ye kuchh zada hi ho gaya," wrote another Instagram user. Here are the reactions: © Instagram © Instagram On the career front, Tara currently has Heropanti 2 and Ek Villain Returns in her kitty. 9. We all have heard from the older generations that arranged marriages last longer and don’t end up in divorces as opposed to love marriages but who’s to say if this works for everyone? We have seen people who’ve had a love marriage spending their entire time together happily, while arranged marriages breaking up, and vice versa. © iStock Someone on Reddit said he doesn’t believe in the concept of arranged marriage and would never have one because he has seen his parents fighting all his life. He wrote, “They fight all the flipping time every weekend they fight or whenever they are together. for ffs, i am not going to get arranged married [sic].” © iStock He further added, “u cannot convince me that love marriage is worse I have seen a love marriage that is much better and in the same family [sic].” Desis were quick to share their POV and said that it’s not really about how they got married but how they get along now. Some people defended arranged marriages, while others said not every love marriage ends in divorce and not every arranged marriage is a happily ever after. Instead of blaming the concept of marriages, it should be noted that the people who aren’t compatible won’t be happy together regardless of how they found each other. So, it won’t be wrong to generalise it for everyone. © iStock Here are some of the best responses. 1. “Same story at my house too. I don't think it's really a question of love or arranged. It's much more about compatibility. When 2 people who are incompatible get married, through arranged or love marriage, there is a high chance of a disaster.” 2. “It's not About love vs arrange marriage ..it's about getting sane, adjustable person or narcissistic, self centred person which if luck runs out you might get one even in love marriage.” 3. “Arrange marriages are good if done properly. Like the couples can date for a year or two, then confirm about it. Meet families ,understand each other and then decide.” –lolhmmk © iStock 4. “It's very subjective, i have seen love marriages going ultra side ways to the point the couple are hitting each other but were loving when they were dating, also seen arrange marriage being very successful, theres a difference between being a boyfriend and being husband , or wife and girlfriend, some people are great as a boyfriend but not as a husband and vice versa.” –redditaddict95 5. “There are millions of arranged marriages happening in country. You cannot choose one incident and generalize.” –investorin © iStock Just like any other relationship, the chemistry, compatibility and understanding of people is what keeps it healthy, happy and going smooth. This perhaps was the reaction of most Indian sports enthusiasts, when Thounaojam Niranjoy Singh, a 24 year old man from Manipur, created a new world record of most finger push ups performed in one minute. via GIPHY Most people on Twitter, after hearing the number of push ups he did in one minute, did a double take and thought they were misreading it. He managed to do an incredible 109 push ups in a minute, a feat which seemed straight out of a movie scene. via GIPHY What makes the feat even more impressive, is the fact that Thounaojam Niranjoy Singh did not do regular push ups, where the entire palm is on the ground. He did a version of push ups where he was supported only through his fingertips. via GIPHY Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju, took to Twitter to congratulate him on this incredible achievement. From a common man being denied entry at a bank for wearing shorts to an athlete being trolled for wearing cargo pants for his meeting with the Indian Army officials, men too are shamed for their attire. © iStock The recent incident shared by a Bengaluru techie and the comments on his post is proof enough. He took to Twitter to share how he went to the RTO office wearing shorts for which he was harassed by the officer and even denied services. “I was harassed by a RTO official because I went to the RTO office in shorts. The guy said he wouldn’t see my case because I was wearing shorts. Can’t seem to understand this crass behavior,” he wrote. © iStock He said that the RTO officials at Jnanabharathi got irritated and started arguing with him. “They insisted they will not share any details just because I was wearing shorts,” he told TOI. There is no written dress code for government offices as such and most of us waltz in banks and officers on a lazy afternoon wearing casual clothes. However, the officials at the RTO got offended on seeing a man in shorts. Last I checked, men’s shorts (not boxers, obviously) aren't inappropriate attire and an acceptable clothing item to wear in public. © iStock However, many men in the comment section said the same thing had happened to them at the RTO, passport office and other public service officers where they were shamed and denied service pertaining to their “inappropriate” outfit. 12. Since we started working from home, it feels like we have been living on a desk or in some cases, our beds. Our day starts with logging in into the laptop, grabbing breakfast and lunch between zoom calls and getting done by dinner time. The hectic schedule and balancing home and work makes us miss working out of the office terribly. However, this is not the case for everyone, it seems. © iStock An IT employee prefers working from home because he is in fact not working at all. He took to Reddit to share how he has been spending office hours playing video games and doing whatever he feels like doing for over a year now while his boss has no idea. That’s because his work is being done, not by him but by an automated device that he made! © iStock Giving the background and nature of his job, he wrote, “I work for a mid-size law firm that hired me as an IT specialist to handle all of their digital evidence for trials…The firm gets thousands of digital documents, photos, etc on a daily basis. All of this goes on a local drive. My job is to transfer all of these files to the Cloud and then verify their fidelity.” “Sounds great, but I quickly realized this was the only task they expected me to perform in my 8-hour shift. This was in no way an 8-hour job, so I was stuck pretending to work at the office most of the time,” he added. © iStock He said that when the country went into lockdown, he was asked to work from home which gave him the opportunity to automate the entire job. “In about a week I was able to write, debug, and perfect a simple script that performed my entire job…I clock in every day, play video games or do whatever, and at the end of the day I look over the logs to make sure everything ran smoothly... then clock out", he wrote. © iStock He has been doing it for a year and earning almost 90k (it isn’t clear if it’s INR or USD but still is a lot) and is just spending 10 minutes on his desk every day while we are working day in and day out for peanuts. However, wait. There’s more. He has even planned a masterstroke for when and if his manager figures out and tries to fire him. © iStock “I’m doing exactly what they hired me to do, all of the work is done in a timely manner, and I get to enjoy my life. Win-win for everyone involved. Plus, I’ve already decided that if they ever try to get rid of me I’ll just get rid of the script. I’m running it on equipment that I own so if they lose me, they lose the work. Creating my own job security,” he said. © iStock Well, he’s living the dream and we’re amazed at this brilliant jugaad. 15. There are very few actors in the industry who manage to give a little insight into who they really are beyond the silver screen. Yes, we may be aware of their daily routine, philosophies for life and every other thing that has been interviewed and consumed by the fans. But to get across who you are as a person, is tough even for great actors. And one who has never had trouble doing that is Keanu Reeves, the man we commonly know as John Wick or Neo from the Matrix series. As opposed to the violent, righteous and vengeful figure we’ve seen him as in most of his roles, Keanu Reeves has often been called the ‘nicest guy’ on the block, and attesting to that fact is actress Priyanka Chopra who recently worked with him on the sets of The Matrix Resurrections. Priyanka Chopra, who would be essaying the role of adult Sati in this 4th instalment of The Matrix, shared her experience of working with him and went on to say how he was a pillar of support for her on a rather difficult day. © Twitter Recalling a challenging day at work when the actress had to resume shooting after six months of staying inside during the lockdown and also had quite a few lines in front of the camera, PeeCee felt pretty intimidated. However, that is when Keanu Reeves who plays the main role of Neo in the film, walked up to her and showed support. “He came up to me and he said, ‘that was a very difficult day and a lot to do, you did such a great job and you should know that',” said Priyanka Chopra. She also added, “When you have a day and you just need someone to tell you that, 'you were alright, you did it and you were good'. I think he was very astute, he can read the room well and that meant a lot to me, especially as a new kid on the block in the movie." View this post on Instagram This isn’t the first time a celebrity has corroborated Keanu Reeves' kind and generous nature and coming from Priyanka Chopra herself, we know that the John Wick actor is just as compassionate as advertised. The movie The Matrix Resurrections also stars actors like Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is slated to be released worldwide theatrically on December 22. View the full article
  16. Arranged marriages come with its own perks and perils. While it’s exciting and involves less family drama (free of all that abba nahi manenge), there are certain inhibitions and hesitation that take time. Since you’ve only known your partner for a few months, things can get awkward especially on the wedding night. © Rajshri Productions Do you talk about it or just go for it? How do you know what your partner wants and likes in bed? And, basically how do you break the ice on the wedding night when you’ve only spoken a few times before getting hitched? All these questions haunt your mind but a smart lad said it out loud on social media and also asked for advice from desis who’ve had an arranged marriage. © Yash Raj Films A Reddit user posted, “People whose marriage was arranged, what was it like the night after the wedding?. He further wrote, asking for advice, “How does one prepare oneself for the arranged marriage if one hasn't got to meet his or her partner a lot of times before wedding? and it should be even more awkward when you're a virgin without any sexual experience.” “Is it normal to talk to your partner regarding *** before wedding?” I know most will be tired in their first night after all the photoshoots and traveling and nothing happens much... But what actually happens and who breaks the ice?” he added. © Netflix Desis who have had similar experience with their partner shared stories and advice on how to go about it and what to expect. Here are some of the most wonderful and insightful first-hand experiences from the thread. 1. Maybe, Talk First? It is totally fine to speak all sort of stuff before wedding, *** is integral part of life, u both have to be open to understand each other and what they want, there is no ice breaker or who breaks the ice, just speak to them casually, they will open up. and take your time, dont expect *** the same night. 2. *** Can Wait Don't even think about it on your first night. There's a lifetime ahead. © SLB Films 4. Make Her Comfortable Everything falls into place naturally assuming you take care of the fact that the bride is a human being. *** on the first night should not be a priority. Realise she has left her home and family for you. Give her the appropriate respect...Ps. As for breaking the ice, its probably better for the guy to do so. Share a glass of water? Help her remove all those pin and clips from her hair. Little things go a long way. 2. Protection & Foreplay Are Must The wife is under pressure. This makes it harder for her to get lubricated. It will make things painful for her. And that's not all, it will make things super painful for you too. So if you've got to get it on, make sure you have the right setting, sweet talk and have enough foreplay. Then when she's comfortable move to next level. © Rajshri Productions 5. It’s Not Like It’s Shown In The Movie Like some others have said, it doesn’t go in properly the first time and wish I knew about that, I had a bit of bleeding (on sheets of one of the Taj Hotels, I’m still so embarrassed thinking about it and wished we had placed some sheets of our own). Hope these accounts and advice helped the newly wed couple! View the full article
